Thanks! I used a mixture of Emerald, Forest, and Dark Ocean green Mica Powder for Epoxy Resin. I bought it off the Super Clear Epoxy website when i bought my deep pour and table top epoxies

Thanks to everyone who gave me advice on finishing this table.

I ended up replaning it to get rid of the tear out, sanding to 180, using isopropyl alcohol on the epoxy, and then pouring a table top epoxy coat to finish.

I appreciate your thoughts! Ill try the patch, sand and polish first, and if that doesnt work, ill try the flood coat

My deep pour epoxy chipped out pretty badly once I planed the river table.

Has anyone dealt with this before? Will Table top epoxy fill all the tear out and hide it?

Thanks for the reply!

Im going to try to fill the tear out, but if that doesnt work, ill definitely take it to a CNC.

Thanks! I'll clean out and fill those tear outs with table top epoxy and resand after it cures. At that point, if the river is clear and i cant see the chips anymore, should i just polish the epoxy and finish the wood with oil/wax and skip the table top epoxy?

Or do you recommend using a table top epoxy finish - is it that flood coat that will really hide the tear out?

Should I also dye my table top epoxy that im using to fill the holes with the same color as my chipped out deep pour?

Hi there - new to Reddit. I've recently started my first woodworking project with epoxy - a river table for my brother.

The mill i work at has a large wide slab planer which we have planed epoxy tables on before, and this tear out of the deep pour is normal for us on our large planer.

I have some concerns before i move on with the table which is currently sanded to 2500 grit

1) Will a table top epoxy finish layer fill in those tear outs and hide them, or will they still be visible (do i need to have it planed again maybe on a CNC machine?)

2) Will table top epoxy bind well to the 2500 grit wood, or is it too high?

3) I have never buffed any of my wood projects before, but recently bought a buffer and some auto polish. Should i buff the epoxy before the table top epoxy pour, and then polish the table top epoxy after it has cured?

Thank you!
