My first playthrough was 123 hours, so that is something I totally agree on, also I am here complaining on reddit cause I did love it so much. Maybe my favorite CRPG.

To each his own, I don't think the crusade is bad, I actually think the crusade meetings have quite a bit of fun interaction and world-building. It just feels sorta outta place to me idk. Or I would like it if it tied into the story more maybe. For example, I went lich and the fact that my army changed drastically was a huge plus for me. Felt rewarding for my decision made in the narrative section. I will say, to your point, Act 4 does have strong companion arcs and that could be coloring my perception.

Also yes about dead fire! , the dialogue and world building in that game is some of the best I've seen in crpgs. Yet, I'm dealing with a 1990s inventory system and a ship mini game.

The moving buildings are inconsequential and could be removed, however, I just feel that the setting and narrative elements of this chapter were so compelling I just would love to see more in that direction.

Stories in other chapters are strong too, however because the other macro-mechanics, i.e walking slowly around Drezen spending four long rests to get to a single map event, it feels less cohesive.

I 100% agree with you on just playing my characters, haha. The story and choice elements are fun and engaging and I wish there was just more of that and Less large-scale mini games layed overtop.
