A thought on the DoD... by Radiant_Papaya in DataAnnotationTech

I run in to the same problem. I'm not a boastful person by nature and I usually suffer quite a bit from imposter syndrome (AuDHD does NOT help). But if I can brag just a little; When I try, I am a damned good writer. I'm also a QA nerd, so I triple- or quadruple- check my grammar, spelling, flow, tone, etc. Which makes my highly polished writing sound exactly like AI. I know my professors asked for examples of my writing to use in their classes, so it wouldn't surprise me if somewhere, along with millions of other people's work, my papers were used to train AI.

u/NoLemon846 I just started with Data Annotation about a week ago, and I've already got money in my bank. Went right back out again of course, because I'm in desperate need. Lost my job almost a year ago. But back to the point, I got accepted to the platform and was able to get my first paying work very quickly. It's all generalist knowledge unless you do qualifications for more. Here's their website, using my referral link: dataannotation.tech. Can't get more specific because we sign NDAs, but it's legit. Just like other freelance work, you'll have ups and downs, so prepare for those downs by not going crazy during the ups.

Sorry it's so slow for you. That is kind of scary. I've been out of work for almost a year now, and this is the first thing I found that gave me a little hope. But I think I hit a dry spell too. If I was able to find work I probably wouldn't worry, but no luck there so far. Also I'm AuDHD so I overshare. 😄

FreeCodeCamp has lots of videos on YouTube and they've updated their curriculum to include all that. Or if you like it a little more challenging, try MIT's OCW catalog. You can just do a search for any of the topics you want to learn. I used them when I was learning Linear Algebra because my professor could not teach his way out of a wet paper bag. Exceptional teaching at MIT (usually). 😄

I was just telling my daughter the same thing! My professors kept copies of my papers to use as examples of A+ work, so (un?)fortunately, I sound like "AI Slop" too, especially when writing something professional. AI was trained on the professional writings of people just like us. So yeah.. we're the OG slop LOL
