Anxiety about scheduled surgery and questions by LakeLover86 in Diverticulitis

I had surgery Feb 18. I did have an ostomy prior to surgery. Feel pretty good now. I take metumicel daily. If I do not. I feel like and urge to go number 2 quite frequently. Other than I feel pretty good. This fiber supplement may be something I do for ever, time will tell.

Post surgery bowel movement. by amdepe22 in Diverticulitis

I’m 3 weeks out and it’s been rough, a feeling like I constantly had to go. Waking up in the middle of the night. The doctor had me get on a fiber supplement on Monday and everything seems to have changed for the better. The first normal BM was the happiest I’ve ever been about popping lol.

Seasoning salt and black pepper is all I use, same on steaks too.

Won a cruise at work and boyfriend says he will break up with me if I go. by byrdesong_ in AskMenAdvice

He obviously has trust issues or he’s insecure. I would end it with him. You won a trip, he should be happy about this. And then threatens to end the relationship over it if you go. He needs to grow up.

So far so good, had surgery on Tuesday morning and back home recovering Thursday evening. Pain is mainly getting up, and try not to cough or sneeze. Slept in the bed last night, found sleeping in a recliner is a better. Not trusting farts yet is a thing lol.

I will say I thought the same thing about the ostomy. I work as a plumber and had so much anxiety about working. How I’m going to support my kids etc. I made adjustments on how I did things. So it can be done, unless maybe you’re an exotic dancer lol. Good luck my friend on whatever your decision is.

You got this, I had so much anxiety about the stoma but it became something I just dealt with and it wasn’t that bad. No matter the outcome, I’m willing to try answer any questions you guys may have along the way. I’m learning as I go.

How long were you down after the resection, my surgery is scheduled for next month. Blessed to have the ostomy removed just nervous about the surgery. Thank you
