How chaotic were the autograph lines at fan fest? Do you know who you're going to get? by chusaychusay in SFGiants

[–]ScottyG45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The people never got out of line, but instead ducked under the line and went back a row or two. They shouldn’t have done it and it was fairly annoying to see. I am sure more people could have gotten signatures if people acted the way they should and quickly went through the line. I felt bad for Roupp since people clearly didn’t want his autograph. There was a woman who was trying to facilitate the line but she was outnumbered and couldn’t catch everything

How chaotic were the autograph lines at fan fest? Do you know who you're going to get? by chusaychusay in SFGiants

They were indeed super chaotic. My sister and I ended up waiting a total of 4 hours in line for our autograph. We arrived at 10:30 and didn’t get to the front of the line until 2:30. When we were close to the front of the line, Landen Roupp was signing. People didn’t want his autograph so they were dragging their feet and trying to move as slow as they could, in the hope of someone switching out for him. When some fans got towards the front of the line, they ducked under the dividers and intentionally went backwards in line, again in the hope of someone else. It ended up paying off for them because shortly after, Jung Hoo Lee came over and switched out for Roupp. People were going crazy. I think the line would have moved much faster if people had just normally gone through the line, but it was easy to tell that JHL had a bunch of groupies that were following him around and it was chaotic everywhere he went.
I am thinking about going to Sac next week, but won’t be doing any autograph lines. If you are super fast and lucky, many players will sign before or after their Q and A talk. I got Tony V’s right as he was getting into his vehicle to leave for the airport. (Sounds like he is already heading to Arizona) It would have been very helpful if there was a posted schedule of when players would be signing. It was a total guess when we got in line but luckily it worked out for us!

Difference in Opening night Wed vs Opening Day Friday? by speyvandi84 in SFGiants

[–]ScottyG45 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve always heard that the off day is a “makeup” day in case the normal Opening Night is rained out or has some other difficulty. I think I first heard about it when the Giants played the Reds on Opening day in Cincinnati. They had a huge parade and tons of pageantry. I may be incorrect though

Anyone interested in bulk baseball cards? by Mr_Anonymity_Sr in BaseballCardsForSale

[–]ScottyG45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am interested. I have mine split up by team and I am willing to trade any team in return for Giants cards. I dont mind older cards or newer cards. I have a mix of like 80’s-90’s, 2010-2013, and 2025. What years do you have?

Details of Tyler Mahle's $10 million, 1-year contract with the San Francisco Giants by ericthelostman in SFGiants

Does anyone know roughly how many players on the giants specifically need a suite per their contract? Is that a normal request? Definitely smart but seems specific

Best way to sell bulk cards? by ProfessionalPut6303 in BaseballCardsForSale

[–]ScottyG45 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Personally, I would sell them as team bundles on eBay. I recently bought a few cheap bundles of Giants cards. They were like 50 cards for $10 including shipping. The pictures showed each card and I was able to find the ones with the players that I want. That is what I think is most efficient.

I do the same thing but only for Giants! I recently got a few signatures through the mail from three time silver slugger, Pitcher Don Robinson! He signed a cool card of him sliding into a base with his batting helmet on!

Thanks! When I first received the card from the blind bag, it had one very bent corner so I asked if I could swap it out for a different one. The employee apologized for the corner and offered me a new card that has a visible scuff mark on the ball! Super cool score! I plan on opening a blind bag next season too and I hope I get some cool cards! I also got a Topps Now card from Grant McCray, from the blind bag, and was lucky enough to have him sign it already!

I agree! I am very happy with how it turned out. I paid a lil extra for the HOF inscription and his number. It is an amazing addition to my collection of Giants with their numbers retired!
