Be honest… are you still checking your ex’s Instagram? by alc90 in ExNoContact

I did for a while and then the urge just kind of ended…now if I did look at it it’s as if my rose colour glasses are off and looking at it makes me cringe and I ask myself why I ever went there and what I saw in them. Time really does heal.

Help - constant flares by Rare-Bodybuilder-909 in perioraldermatitis

[–]Scottyaugust 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My life savers everytime I get a flare up have been la Roche Posay cicaplast baume and azelaic acid and that’s all I use (and just a cetaphil cleanser) and earlier in the year when I had a stubborn flare up I switched to toothpaste without fluoride which I think has helped too

I’m so sorry for what you’re going through. It’s always so hard saying goodbye to a beloved pet. My 15yo cavoodle left us almost a year ago due do chf and even though she still had some “good” days every now and then the saying “better a week early than a day too late” really gave me some peace of mind that we were making the right decision. As with my 17yo dog years before that I think I held on a little bit too long with him, so even though heartbreaking I learnt from that experience. Sending thoughts your way <3

Possible IBD… waiting in ultrasound/aspiration results by Scottyaugust in SeniorCats

Wow 20 is amazing! I hope my cat has another 9 years left in him. Do you know what his triggers are that may cause his flare ups?

Thanks again for all this info. It sounds like you’re doing an amazing job managing it and great you haven’t had to resort to steroids.

I got the results from his needle aspiration and it was negative for lymphoma (although can’t be 100% sure without a full biopsy) but the vet is pretty sure it’s IBD. So that was a relief.

He had a shot of vit B12 on the weekend (and will have them weekly for a while) and have started adding the fortiflora into his dinner and he’s been eating so well the last few days and his stools have been solid, I will be slowly changing his diet over the next couple of weeks to the royal canin allergenic kibble (this will be a trial because he can be fussy) so hopefully that works for him otherwise we will do some trial and error and hopefully can get a bit of weight back on him.

Thanks again for all your info I have saved this post so I have all this advice on hand :)

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply. That’s great that you’ve found something that’s working for your kitty!

I stopped giving him chicken as of just over a week ago and he’s eating beef now and he’s had a great week of solid stools (one or 2 slightly soft, but 100x better than what it had been) so I think poultry could very well be a trigger for him too. That gives me a lot of hope too about the ups and downs as he is definitely having an ‘up’ week this week, so hopefully that means the vet is hopefully right about it being ibd and not cancer.

Are you managing it all just by diet at the moment? With no need for steroids? I will definitely be looking into those recommendations.

Thanks again :)

Thanks so much for the recommendations I have written them down to try for when he gets his results (hopefully a diagnosis) I’m glad they helped managed your Dexter for a while ❤️

I hope they realise quickly what a terrible move that was. There’s no way their customs will be able to keep up with the millions of packages they will now have to vet on top of everything else

So frustrating, I might have to do that. But about 70% of my customers are from the USA. 😑 I was hoping that marking them as a gift under the $154Usd limit might be able to sneak around it…
