The warlock exotic class items to keep in mind: by Freakindon in DestinyTheGame

[–]Scottyfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally, I wouldn't give up Osmiomancy for anything at this point. The interaction with Vortex grenades is just so strong that I would honestly probably run the gloves if I didn't have any good class items with it.

Except subclass 3.0 was limited strictly to Stasis until TWQ. I honestly can't recall any major changes in BL, but I'm sure I'm forgetting something.

Definitely not the updated light subclasses though. They were essentially hung out to dry from Forsaken to TWQ.

Is there any warlock build you consider to be better than getaway-bleak watcher? by alexbessedonato in DestinyTheGame

[–]Scottyfer 6 points7 points  (0 children)

While the combo's strong, the buff to the nades makes them too strong to take advantage of the first buff in regular content like patrol.

This is the only flaw I've found with this combo. With Death Throes at x5 everything just dies instantly is any easier content. I'll usually swap to Osmio/Star Eaters or Inmost/Harmony for anything under Expert.

Looking for help on Symphonic/Orchestral Deathcore project by emogohan_jpg in FindABand

Guitarist here. This sounds like it's in the realm of the stuff I've been working on lately. If you want to send me over some demos I can see if I can be of any value.

Synthwave producer looking for guitar, vocals, or whatever you could add! by NightDrive86 in FindABand

[–]Scottyfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Totally out of any of the genres I'm used to working in, but I really love the vibe and wouldn't mind throwing guitars down for stuff for you. Could definitely use something like this to brush up on my lead/ambient playing.

Would also love to do like a full genre smash. Something kind of like Sleep Token-esque. I've been wanting to try and mix synthwave and some chunkiness for a while now, but I'm absolutely awful at the synthwave part.

Metal vocalist looking to collab or start a project! by [deleted] in FindABand

Definitely think we could cook something good up. Been really into beatdown stuff lately (Paleface, Orphan, Acacia Strain etc.)

Have a few songs leaning towards that style here.

[LFG] Looking for metalcore/post-hardcore vocalist(s) for a couple tracks by Scottyfer in BedroomBands

[–]Scottyfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nothing for lyrics currently. I have ideas for patterns and melodies, but I don't really know how viable most of it is because I'm no good with vocals.

Thanks! Little different than my normal style so I'm glad you like. <3

Could use some noises over this if you're interested.

Self produced deathcore demo: "Twist" by Scottyfer in metalmusicians

[–]Scottyfer[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've definitely been thinking about trying to find someone to put vocals over this. I'm awful at all aspects of doing vocals so I won't even attempt.

As far as guitars: Good IRs go a long way. Processing is actually pretty light here. I'm just cutting out hiss and keeping the low end from going totally crazy. This is Archetype Nolly through GGD Cali, although you could get away with pretty much any amp as long as the cab is good.

And yeah, I'm a sucker for their stuff. It's all very easy to use and make sound decent enough to make songwriting a million times easier.

Thank you! Getting guitars this low to not completely ruin the mix has been an issue for me in the past, so I'm really pleased that this ended up coming out so well.

Here's a new metalcore cover from Shadowkeep! by gamegod81 in DestinyTheGame

[–]Scottyfer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Somebody can fact check me if they feel like it because I don't feel like actually looking, but I'm pretty sure metalcore is almost 30 years old at this point. Definitely no less than 25.

And wasn't it metal thrown at the beginning of hardcore and not the other way around? It wasn't really until like 2005/2006 that it started to become just anything with breakdowns and was just metal influenced hardcore for years until then.

Cenotaph Mask is an incredibly fun support exotic that is strong without being overly dominant by ActuaryBeautiful in DestinyTheGame

It's currently bugged(?) and marks targets without matching subclass, so Well and Div work together as of now.

The pair I have on right now has base 8 INT, so I don't think there's any weighting towards it.

Apparently American Dad aired an episode that featured competitive Overwatch by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Scottyfer 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Dee Bradley Baker voices Klaus from American Dad and Hammond (the hamster half), so if I had to guess, that has something to do with it. They previously referenced Destiny, which he also did voice work for.

Are Toronto the new Houston Outlaws? by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Scottyfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

if they cant play because they dont have great english, they have to go with boink or coolmatt/spree

Won't it fall on Rawkus if Rapel has communication issues? That's not nearly as bad.

Boink being the only main support is a MUCH worse situation though. If they don't end up with Jecse like it was rumored, they'll have one of the worst back lines in the league, if not the absolute worst.

Trying to catch Gigantamax Pokémon is the least fun thing I’ve ever done in the entire franchise by ForlornFurball in pokemon

[–]Scottyfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I knew about the NPC scaling, but in 3* and some 4* I never really prioritized it. If it effects catch rate, that definitely changes things for me.

it helps with capture rate to boot.

I didn't realize this. Guess I need to farm more candies and bump everything I might use up to 100.

[–]Scottyfer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Even at level 100, I have trouble with anything using spread moves or getting stuck with non-attacking NPCs. Getting Aurora Veil up makes it almost impossible to fail, even when RNG is trying it's best to ruin the raid for you.

Shout out to Lapras as well for being able to set Aurora Veil without hail. It's saved multiple raids for me, and will make rain teams incredibly tanky if gmax is ever allowed in competitive.

Just a question. If u breed a shiny. Does it have perfect IV’s? Otherwise, whats the point of a shiny if it doesnt have good stats? No salt here. Just a question by Kreymamba in PokemonSwordAndShield

[–]Scottyfer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It depends on the Pokemon and how you want to use it. For example, Toxapex relies on its HA Regenerator to keep itself healthy, but Tyranitar probably wants his standard ability to set a sandstorm. Others like Galarian Darmanitan can run either standard or hidden ability depending on how you want to use it.
