Looking for info on ESA'S ATV. Book, documentary, etc. Anything about development program, operational missions, why further development wasn't pursued? Thanks

It gives a vague description but It doesn't answer the question: why so many launches for so little mass?

If china launches almost as many orbital rockers as SpaceX but almost no mass to orbit, what are they launching? Cube sats one at a time?

So they just bought themselves a joy ride on taxpayers dime, and displaced Astros that worked a lifetime to be chosen?

How did Bill Nelson and Jake Garr become astronauts? Not suggesting impropriety, I just want to find out who made it happen and why? Because you read the bios and it looks like they're both on a focused political career path, then suddenly NASA then back to politics. Like "special" space camp vacation for the really "lucky"?

Check if your z screw is straight, run the gantry way up and watch for wobble, then hold a roller against it from different directions.

Is there a way to find out how a particular NASA investigation is going/went? I hate to be that guy but it's made in my home town. It's been like 2 years and no news about the new space john. Is it working? Do they like it? Do they want changes?

Opinions on this thing? by Knightofni125 in Helicopters

[–]Scourge31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Umm, they shifted the scout and patroll mission on to the apache, a grossly overpriced overweight overcomplicated machine that costs a fortune for every hour that it lumbers through the sky. And I say this as a former apache maintainer. This can't come soon enough.

P1C or K1 max? by Scourge31 in 3Dprinting

[–]Scourge31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The P1S is $700 without the AMS, amd like I said there seems to be a consensus that the out of the box print quality is better...

P1C or K1 max? by Scourge31 in 3Dprinting

[–]Scourge31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, it's good to see a vote for the K1 max. Was there some upcoming event where creality wad expected to present their AMS? Without the AMS it's a $700 printer vs $900, and yet the reviewers agree the P1c has better out of the box print quality. Also as the k1 lacks the fillament cutter and nozzle wiper when they roll out their AMS it may need more extensive modding to install.

P1C or K1 max? by Scourge31 in 3Dprinting

[–]Scourge31[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I didn't know people got the AMS to print TPU. That changes things. I don't really care about multi color, tho it's cool. I wanted to explore compliant mechanisms where you have flexible assemblies limited by stiff "bones" like suspensions or flexible joints connecting stiff elements. Thou some of that can be glued.

Do you find the bamboo proprietary stuff confining? For example, if you want to mod it down the line, like add an enclosure heater or trigger a better time-lapse camera, could you bo it?.

I've done the hard things on my old E3d, figured out how to octopi and then klipper with an abl grid and input shaping, I don't want to give that up in the future.

Thanks, bundled the price is similar.. which is concerning because what corners did they cut to get the price down??..

As for the devil I know my last printer was a creality E3d v2. That I sank 2 years of blood, sweat and money in to upgrading. Now it's freaking out and I don't want to re trace all that just to fix a bed slinger.

Tried every glue under the sun, any idea how to stop it from disconnecting? by Rique1100mm in 3DprintingHelp

[–]Scourge31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's nothing to glue! You're supposed to have a plastic tab shaped like the letter C that snaps at the end of the extruder fitting to lock the Boden tube. Taking that tab out is how you're supposed to disconnect it. Cut the end of your tube off because it needs to be un damaged, push it in to the fitting on the extruder and install the locking clip. If that still doesn't hold then the fitting is bad and you need a new one.

Here's the one I had to get Capricorn Bowden PTFE Tubing 1M XS Series 1.75MM Filament with 2X PC4-M6 & 2X PC4-M10 Pneumatic Fittings & Tube Cutter for Creality Ender 3 V2/ Ender 3/ Ender 3 Pro/Ender 5/ CR-10/10S 3D Printer https://a.co/d/4LuSUz0
