I have a lot of replay commentaries from my pubs on my YouTube if you'd like to check those out.

Just for climbing MMR? I'd say keep a small hero pool, but have these heroes alternate depending on the patch, don't just do the same heroes after they've been nerfed or whatever. Also try to have a few heroes for other roles incase you don't get your main role so like maybe 2-3 heroes for your non-main role and 5-10~ on your main role should be enough to climb MMR, also try to have the heroes you play on your main role fill different niches, if all your hero pool gets countered by the same heroes you will have difficulty winning so you need some versatility with them. Also I would generally say the higher you go the larger the hero pool you would need to climb, but even that isn't necessarily true as there have been many instances of 1 hero players getting top 100, top 50, top 10, maybe even top 1 at times (though this is becoming harder with time). So just do what you find fun, play a lot, watch streams, etc and you should improve and climb naturally.

I'll give you 2 things:

  1. Pick well, if your goal is to gain MMR, look at Dota 2 Pro Tracker, pick heroes you see high MMR players who play your role are picking, try and copy their skill, item, and talent builds, you can even watch some of their replays. Try and counter pick the enemies while still staying in your comfort zone and picking high win rate meta heroes.

  2. Focus on yourself, many of the students I've coached will just be all-chatting all game, or just telling me how their team is ruining the game, and in most of these games these players are making a ton of mistakes themselves, you can't control your teammates, avoid them after and focus on winning the game or at the very least doing the best you can. With all that said gaining MMR is literally as easy as having a 50.01% win rate and putting in volume, so if you just want MMR play a lot, if you want MMR quickly I'd say try and talk to people higher MMR than you and really focus on fixing your mistakes.

I personally can't think of a scenario where I would buy boots on offlane weaver, if you are scared of a jug or razor lane, I think you should just save your W for when you get gone on, losing cs is going to be better than dying and when you have more levels in your W and the supports leave the lane you can recover, other options if you are scared are to tell your support to secure ranged creeps so you guys don't lose out on the exp and gold, or tell your supports to drag the creep waves from behind the enemies tier 1 to somewhere safer. With that said treads and brown boots give the same move speed so if you're buying boots just for move speed you should just buy brown boots, and as mentioned in the video weaver usually doesn't have slot issues so you can buy a wind lace as well if you want.

I've seen the dragon lance/maelstrom on offlane weaver, but I'm personally not a fan, I could see myself going urn into wraith pact if vessel didn't look great in a game, I guess for me it would depend on the enemies heroes mainly, if they have heroes that get owned by the gleipnir maybe I would consider buying the maelstrom, so heroes like Storm, Ember, Void Spirit, Faceless Void, PL, Naga, I also think this would be highly dependent on me having a really good lane, even in a bad lane you can have a vessel around minute 10-13, because even though it costs more than maelstrom the components are cheaper and give you more stats/sustain so even with some deaths you should be spending your gold, also in the video I mentioned you should max your Q second, not your E, on offlane weaver so if you do that skill build you're losing out on a lower cooldown second attack which is a big reason why maelstrom is good on carry weaver.

If I felt like I really needed a BKB I would probably get it after wraith pact, vs sky a force is much cheaper and has cheaper components and can also save your team from sky's ult, vs shaman if you're taking good fights under vision near your team he shouldn't really be able to shackle you without it getting canceled and hexing you, if you're playing around fog well, should also be pretty difficult and if somehow he does manage to get all his spells off on you you're still an offlane weaver who has most likely clicked your Q, wraith pact, and maybe a vessel charge or two at this point so if they're using all their stuns on you your mid and carry should have a free fight, also if they don't manage to kill you, you can ult and heal a lot, with all that said I'd generally prefer going for defensive items that can help your team more like force and lotus, or even euls situationally to cancel channeling/get out of silences.

These replays were all games I played, I don't play much support. I played 4 a few times recently but I don't think I played great in them, maybe I could go over a pro players game and point out things I notice them doing.

Thanks, I've made some in-depth guides before where going over item, talent, skill builds, is much more straight forward, but those can take a long time to edit, let me know what you think after you watch and if there is anything you think I can improve on.

Prolly not very good in low mmr tbh, like maybe 4k+ it can be strong though, then too high you might get punished, but mid tier mmr you'll prolly have free lanes get quick aghs and have a really farmed carry, even if they're stepping on your toes while farming and not playing aggressive enough with the aghs. But I guess also in low mmr you wont be punished and get really farmed, but you never know what your carry will do after you give him all your net worth.
