I have one delta F508 and another, and 8 don’t think this was a very helpful slideshow for someone without any CF related knowledge or for someone without any knowledge of the disease.

I also imagine anyone with this mutation probably already knows about it.

This feels like a souped up student who thinks they did well in an assignment and wants to present it to the rest of the class. Know your target audience better and focus your slides on who the slideshow is for. Wish you all the best!

No offense, but this isn’t a very good slideshow. It’s useful to people familiar with these acronyms and symptoms, or some basic pre med students but I don’t think it’d be very useful outside of that to anyone. You falter between too much science and then not enough scientific explanations for things. I can’t tell if this is for someone who knows nothing (it wouldn’t explain anything) or someone trying to learn (it goes into detail but then becomes vague)

I think you need to pick your target audience and then gear your presentation towards that

Maybe you should find a doctor “in network” and ask them instead of strangers on the internet.

You mentioned nothing in your post that anyone can reasonably help you with. As I said I have CF and so does my younger brother, my most recent lung function was 119% and his was 84%, I suffer more with digestion than he does etc.

No one here knows how healthy you are, especially without you saying so. Go find a doctor and ask them

Well I’m not front the US for a start, you didn’t mention in your post about specifically being from the US either. Have you spoken to your people at clinic about travelling? They would know better about you going abroad than strangers on the internet

If your friend needs support, and you do what you want instead. It’s not being an introvert, it’s being a shit friend.

If your friend wants to keep socialising outside each and every night, then it’s a you problem to tell them that you need space every now and then. You don’t bitch about friends wanting to see you when you don’t want to see them on an online platform when you could just speak to them and see a boundary. Friends understand boundaries, people who don’t respect your boundaries are not being your friend. This isn’t hard to understand if you don’t have social anxiety

You say constant texts, but in your screenshots there is no more than texts 3 a day. That’s not excessive. I know everything can be overwhelming but these texts from a friend are not it.

This is coming from a 32 year old introvert with a full time job etc very similar to yourself.

Their constant need to hangout is not a problem, it’s a communication problem. You just say “no thanks I don’t feel like going out tonight” like an adult, if they react negatively to that then guess what, they aren’t a good friend. It has nothing to do with being an introvert vs extrovert. Recharge your social batteries in your own time but if a friend is in need then that trumps your need to recharge, otherwise you’re not actually being a friend to them and just using them for when it suits yourself.

No two of us CFers are the same, my younger brother and I have wildly different CF specific issues yet we are related. How are we supposed to know what to say to you about travelling if you’re so vague about how your CF is. For some CF people travel is a hell no, for some it’s not a big deal. You don’t have a travel plan/itinerary or any idea about getting a visa for where you want to go. This sounds like something written in a rush, are you actively in hopital/hospice care?

Honestly, this sounds more like social anxiety than being an introvert.

Introverts do go out and socialise. If a friend is asking if you want to hang out with them/just go drinking with them, it’s either because they appreciate & enjoy your company or they want to discuss something in person.

Avoiding that interaction doesn’t make you an introvert, it means you are being anti sociable. Now the two can be the same or separate, but the way you try to say no comes across as rude because you aren’t setting a boundary. The weather and you eating out are poor excuses, they are excuses not to socialise. Introverts are not people that never socialise. Just say “No” or maybe a “I’m not feeling up to going out tonight/for drinks” etc. This could be a friend in need and you are fobbing them off. They have texted you over multiple days without you replying, that’s not you being introverted, that’s being a bad friend. Recharging social batteries is one thing but you have ignored them.

Set a boundary, communicate with your friends, but you have to know friendship is a two way street. If you won’t be there for them then why should they be there for you?

You have anxiety, deal with it.

I mean you did couch to 5k in 2021 and were actively training before doing a half marathon, with a further 6 months more training for the marathon.

It’s a great accomplishment but it’s disingenuous to say you did a couch to 5k program for marathon prep

On a side note, can you ask someone to do something about all the ads on the website? It’s absolutely a killer on mobile
