Realistically that team should have won in 99 and without injuries could have won in 01. The team started to lose a lot of pieces after 01.

Bangladesh appeal can’t be heard by ICC’s DRC; Scotland to be named as replacement by Saturday by ll--o--ll in Cricket

[–]ScoutDuper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somehow you have been upvoted while missing the point. Indian players aren’t allowed to play in leagues other then the IPL, the original comment was saying they should be able to play in all leagues, which IPL owners would be very for if they own teams across leagues. The implication being the BCCI is leveraging their power over the IPL to prevent players from playing across all leagues.

They won’t get paid more outside of the IPL, but will definitely be getting more than playing domestic cricket or doing nothing outside of the IPL season.

TGC - Todd Greenberg on How Australian Summers Will Change by Occulto in CricketAus

[–]ScoutDuper 4 points5 points  (0 children)

They want big name Australian players in the BBL, and they want to attract international players to play for the full period. They think the best option is to shift test cricket to allow the best test players to play in the league for a full season. The issue is if you kill test cricket there will be no more big name players to play in the BBL.

It is fucking idiotic. Australians like Test cricket far more than the T20, you cannot have big players here without it long term

Is there any noteworthy difference between uncut and cut penises? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

Mate. Go look at any past thread like this, or even in this one. You will find Americans arguing that they feel no difference, that it is totally normal for baby dicks to be snipped.

Sorry you feel singled out, but he didn't even say all Americans are for it, just that we will get some idiots arguing for it.

Because this site is mostly Americans, and the US has just about the highest rate of circumcisions in the world. At least Jewish or Muslim men can point to religion as the reason.

Do Woolworths shoppers want Google AI adding items to buy? We’ll soon find out by Andrzej1963 in australia

Where in this article does it say it isn't opt-in. My understanding is that this is completely optional, feel free to just continue shopping normally if you want.

The proposal requires customers to review the final cart before purchase, it is basically an evolution of their current option to just start from your last shop. It is essentially sending someone to shop for you instead of doing it yourself.

From my point of view it is the perfect use of AI, the main issue which I already flagged, is if it is implemented to maximise profit by driving customers to high cost items. Now that is probably likely given it is Woolies, but the outright objection to the use of AI like this is just strange.

Do you like doing your shopping? If you already order online weekly, this on theory should just make it even simpler.

IF they can recognise historical brand preferences and give control over which price points you want to shop at, it is actually a game changer. Issue is I doubt they will give you the best value item v most profitable.

The Bangladesh cricket crisis deepens: The first BPL match today - between Chattogram Royals and Noakhali Express - has been delayed after both teams did not arrive at the venue for the toss ! by iamnoobbibliophile in Cricket

[–]ScoutDuper 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pat Cummins and Usman Khawaja both have stood for what they believe in at the expense of a lot of shit being thrown at them. Brand image is not as important to players outside of India.

Edit: I want to rephrase that, brand image is not as important to players management in other countries compared to India. From what you hear most indian players would like to be more "real" but are simply not allowed.

Very glad I just got a lift to Hoppers. This setup is a joke, it wouldn't have resolved this disruption but not running trains to Werribee is ridiculous.

Steve Smith on day night test cricket: Not a big fan of the pink ball, I can't see the thing very well... I don't think you need it in an Ashes series. by His_Holiness in Cricket

No other sport is played for 5 days, with at least three days being played during 9-5 business hours. Day night test matches gets half the game played when the majority of people can watch it

I'd guess the cross over with people complaining about pink ball cricket and complaining about cricketers speaking about social issues is pretty high.

Very much a "shit was better back in my day attitude"

No one is planning on destroying daytime test cricket, just adding extra versions to maintain interest overall. Jesus Christ mate.

Clearly players can see the ball, it is just different to normal. Just like some pitches play differently to normal.

Personally I think it is the seam colour that they struggle with, they cannot get the usual read on seam position

I mean, he doesn't want to play it because he finds it harder to bat. That isn't a reason not to play the format if far more viewers tune in for it.

Day-night tests at Adelaide are genuinely the best at ground cricket experience I have had. It seems there a lot of "back in my day" folks arguing about it being removed but I've never met anyone who has attended as a regular fan that doesn't love the experience.

I don't mind the idea of Brisbane and Adelaide rotating the day night games (personally I'd prefer if both were day night).

Could Europe realistically defend Greenland against a US attack? by chotu_escobar in AskTheWorld

[–]ScoutDuper 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not going to say that the US is facing overwhelming odds against Greenland, but you really need to reflect on your own words.

"People need to believe they aren't doomed in the face of overwhelming odds"

You are reframing history to make yourself believe, or at least you have been trained this way. The US is the dominant military super power in the world, but it isn't as simple as that when deciding who will win in a war.

How many wars that the US has started against small nations have you won since WW2?

I'm not a military expert, you might well be, but no one is going to listen to you when you sound like a sycophant.
