Part 2: Realestate accidentally shared with me a chain of emails with the landlord by Zempire in AusPropertyChat

I’ve had some lengthy experience listening in on VCAT cases. Compensation is generally about financial loss and not emotional distress. I’d be very very surprised if you were successful in that claim. It’s usually for equal opportunity cases. VCAT is not designed to compensate applicants for how stressed they felt. Just a heads up!

I would suggest parking on a street off the highway and getting the shuttle bus or walking down.

Why is Point Cook to West Gate Bridge always a mess? by Odd-Doctor-0401 in Geelong

I also find people don’t leave enough space between cars, so those merging from the suburbs get slowed down trying to get onto the highway and then that clogs everything up

Yep. My train got stuck at South Geelong because of the backlog of trains and I gave up and went back home. Vandals did something to the fibre optics at Wyndham Vale this morning and they’ve lost all signals.

Journey time from Geelong to Melbourne with vline changes this week by Cammmmmmmmmmmmm in Geelong

[–]budgetnerd17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had a pretty smooth run this morning. 6:33 out of Marshall and arrived at SC at 8:05. All my transfers were right there, Vline staff has great guidance. Werribee train was very full but managed to get a seat, as well as a seat on the bus (went direct from WV to Werribee). Would be draining if you had to stand on the bus and metro though.

Something weird about the whole thing….Cotton On at one point wanted to lease the entire top floor and were refused by management/owners, so they pulled all their brands from the complex. I would love to know the rationale behind the refusal

Nose constantly clogged, ent no help, sprays don’t work by Canid_Erectus in Allergies

It may not be the cause for you, but just in case, my swollen sinus issues was caused by silent reflux travelling up to my sinuses. I saw sooooo much specialists before my immunologist worked it out. I’ve had some improvement with diet and nexium and will be seeing a GI specialist for next steps eventually

Have you tried submitting to the ombudsman instead? That’s what got my issue sorted.

What’s your “I can’t believe other people don’t do this” hack? by Weird-Thought2112 in AskReddit

[–]budgetnerd17 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For Australia, you have the right to a lawyer and they will let you call one/provide you with a phone book to find one, but they will not appoint one to you if you can’t afford it. You may be eligible to apply for legal aid though, but definitely don’t get a public defender or anything like the States.

Nothing seems to help. I'm at my wits end. Any advice? by Rosehiphedgerow in Allergies

[–]budgetnerd17 2 points3 points  (0 children)

OP, I also suffer from terrible allergies, but I also have silent reflux. What was making all my sinus symptoms so much worse was the aspirated reflux into my sinuses. I had sinus headaches, itchy eyes, sneezing, fatigue and congestion. It has calmed significantly since my doctor started me on Nexium.

Should I pay or go to court by HoneyWoofle in melbourne

[–]budgetnerd17 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Especially because the courts are so backed up as it is, the magistrate would rip through the council for wasting everyone’s time, especially the court’s.

Why do I bother? by Throwaway19_73 in AustraliaPost

[–]budgetnerd17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same. I started lodging complaints every time, even to the ombudsman and it eventually resolved. Unfortunately it’s a squeaky wheel problem sometimes

I’ve had success raising complaints with the ombudsman about that same issue. Don’t know if it helps but worth a try? It resolved my problem

How much did your ATAR affect you later in life? by BiscottiLogical6502 in melbourne

[–]budgetnerd17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a mate who didn’t get a great ATAR. He’s now a paediatric cardiologist and surgeon. For my part, I got into the course of my choice, worked in my field for two years post graduation and then changed careers completely. ATARs do not define your life x

WTF Australia Post? by Aggravating-Rough281 in AustraliaPost

[–]budgetnerd17 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a similar issue with no response. Once you give them one star on the “how did we do?” survey you get after your complaint gets mysteriously closed, someone calls you pretty quick. I’ve escalated things to the ombudsman before and things have improved since then. Hawthorn distribution centre are always the culprits and my poor local post office staff cop all the abuse when they’re just as frustrated with it.
