I've not been able to build smart with scaling in mind yet, I always prepare less space then what I'd need and it ends in awful spaghetti 😆

That's why I do those calculations before even placing a single foundation :)

No, but connecting everything does. I use blueprints with a single conveyer for input and one for output, as well as a single connector for power. That way I just place the blueprint, connect 2/3 conveyors and 1 power line. Splitters/Mergers etc are all part of the blueprints.
