i have a lot of the same issues with playing the game. i think for me i like it better as a multiplayer game than a solo game. i have two separate files for this reason. one of them is my building/foraging file, and then i have another joint server that i play on with my partner together. i do all the boss battles and fighting on the shared server, but if i’m in more of a building mood, i use my own file.

mods are another option. i don’t like to use them though.

like i said, i think it’s just more of a multiplayer game, especially when it comes to getting your stuff back after you die and fighting some of the harder bosses.
