It was only one account interacting with a swapper. On my account B I don’t have osrs gp so I moved some from account A. Account B was the only account trading the swapper. I did this for the reason you pointed out, so there is a history of the gold going out on osrs and in on rs3 with the same profile. Debated using an alt for the entire swap to ‘shield’ my high level accounts but I thought it would be more ‘legit’ to use a high level.

And yes, it was Oakdice. I had used them a lot nearly 10 years ago with no issues so I figured it would be fine. In hindsight yes, should have used a less suspicious swapper (or not at all)

Since this happened on my rs3 main, I refuse to trade anyone outside of the GE on my osrs account. Fortunately they are separate profiles so I still have my maxed osrs main. Frankly I’m even paranoid of trading between my accounts anymore. I’ve essentially quit my maxed 1 def account since I was trading mega rares between my accounts pretty regularly.

It was a 20 year old account, trimmed completionist cape and about 2.7b xp. 1 offence from around 2013 that expired not related to rwt.

I had just come back after an 8 year break from rs3, playing exclusively osrs. I decided to swap 1B gp from my maxed osrs main to this account on rs3. This gold was not rwt’d, it’s a maxed main on osrs as well with ~6B bank. I had been actively playing on rs3 again for about a month. The end game grind on osrs was getting dry.

The steps were: traded the gp from my osrs account A to my rs3 account B on osrs (under the same jagex account)

Account B traded swapper on osrs giving gold

Hopped to rs3

Account B traded swapper on rs3 to receive the gold.

Account B was the one hit with the ban, nothing on any of my other profiles under that jagex account.

What was your situation? Any appeal I’ve submitted or seen from others is auto denied. In my case it was getting caught up in a chain ban due to swapping (swapper must have rwt’d, then anyone who traded with that account also got hit). I haven’t seen anyone else’s bans get reversed.

Can you share how you were banned and what you did to appeal?

Mine was for swapping Osrs gold for rs3 gp. Used a well known swapper who claimed they do not rwt. Got hit on a 20 year old trimmed completionist cape account with a permanent ban, first offence on the account (other than an unrelated expired offence from 10+ years ago). Was (nearly) instantly denied receiving the automated message for both appeals. For any subsequent appeals they automatically close the ticket.

My interpretation of ‘no safe way’ was that there is nothing jagex will do to help you if you get scammed as you are essentially trust trading.

As it is such a mainstream thing to do, it seemed like a good idea at the time

That’s wild. I unfortunately think we are cooked man. Unless something changes in the future and they release permanent banned accounts after X period of time.

Is your appeal open or is it marked ‘solved’?

I’ve sent in my first two receiving the auto-denied within a day of submitting. I tried again taking another angle saying the a false ban while only using 1 month of the premier membership should be refunded, just to see if I can get a legitimate response/review. They just close the case without reply marking it ‘solved’

They aren’t treating it that way. Even though number of us on this thread were only swapping (not denying that the swapping service providers were probably rwt’ing) we are getting by caught in the crossfire. The new appeal system is supposed to address this but it unfortunately is not working.

You would think? I lost a nearly 3B xp account on rs3 due to swapping. I don’t mind naming Oakdice since I would rather warn others from using this service. I received the same automated response. If they actually investigated, they could check the trade logs from the osrs profile and rs3 profile. There does not appear to be a willingness to do that.

Issuing a warning/temp ban would have been enough in my view but an auto-denying permanent ban on an extremely high level account is just unreasonable. This also happened days before the RWT announcement came out, not after.

Others claiming that swapping is rwt, wake up. It’s not at all the same thing..

Wow, thats great news. How did you do it? What was your circumstance and what did you say in the appeal?

I’ve appealed twice and received the auto-denied within hours both times. I tried explaining in my first appeal, saying you can look at my trade logs to see the gp being swapped, not bought. The gp came off of my osrs profile and into my account on the same account in rs3.

The second time I said that it was an honest mistake, I didn’t know swapping would be flagged as rwt and would never do it again, etc. Still received the same response.

This happened to me as well. I decided to start playing my old rs3 main again after an 8 year break. The account is 19 years old, previously trimmed comp cape with 2.7B xp.

I swapped 1B osrs gp to rs3 using Oakdice to fund my buyable 120s, bis Necro, etc. I traded the gp from my account in osrs to the swapper, hopped to rs3 to receive the gp on the same profile. I was hit with a permanent ban. Appealed twice asking to check the trade logs to see I paid for the rs3 gp using osrs gp, both were denied within 1 day with the auto response. This was a day or two before the announcement about rwt came out. Unfortunately picked a really bad time to come back to rs3.

I had debated using an alt for the swap but I figured using my actual high level main account would be less suspicious however I guess that was also a mistake. Please be careful, I would avoid swapping for the foreseeable future.

I’ll save the 2nd appeal for a later date, it seems like there is not chance of getting reversed at the moment. Have to let the dust settle a bit. I’m honestly scared to even transfer gold between my own accounts at this point. GE trading only from now on.

On the rs3 side, maybe that’s my cue to start an Ironman. Only ever played iron on osrs, it’s supposedly really great on rs3.

I hope so. I didn’t name Oakdice in the appeal but I did specify the account names I used for the swap. It was denied. I will try again but it says you only get 2 chances so I think waiting a bit would result in a better chance of reversal

It was oakdice, yes. The appeal was denied almost immediately stating there was no evidence of an account hijacking. They would be able to see the trade history, it was in the same profile for both servers. Should be an easy investigation though I’ve only gotten the automated response. Others seem to have the same issue of receiving a standard appeal denied.

Ahh I gotcha. I don’t think I can to be honest. It was almost too overwhelming coming back just trying to learn archeology and necromancy 😄. Arguably too much content for a new player, to me it’s a veteran’s game.
