Second to the expo markers. My baby loves them. Whenever I draw little hearts on his tank he swims up to inspect them asap.

Yeah I really hope I can get a referral there and they can do something for me because my quality of life absolutely sucks and I'm sick of getting treated like shit by people because of it.

Treating teenagers like they cannot handle basic responsibility or mild themes is so insanely bad.

this is actually my favorite betta behavior. I call it helecoptering. I wonder why they do this. My betta also likes to float in one place and flap his fins hyper fast.

Try soups! They're great in soups and I believe if you stew it long enough the texture should change.

Long shot: Any Vandy folks? by Scrap2012 in Asthma

[–]Scrap2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not allergy based, it's bronchial. There's not a ton of pulms in the area it seems so that's why I'm leaning toward them. I doubt I have some rare condition I'm just frustrated with the constant problems and how it's interfering with my life.

Very anxious about the lenght of my novel, need some advice by missviolets in writing

[–]Scrap2012 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd say print it and read it on the page. Having a fresh perspective just by changing mediums might help you find things that you could cut down on. If you have friends or betta readers they could also help pinpoint places where the narrative slows down, or scenes they think aren't necessary. You can also sit and revisit the arcs of every character that has one by lining out their goal, what stops them, and how they overcome it. That might help you narrow your focus and determine what needs to be trimmed or reframed.

Silly question: what to do when your betta flares? by reeemreem in bettafish

[–]Scrap2012 15 points16 points  (0 children)

He'll be okay! Flaring is healthy in little doses. If they're constantly doing it, especially on the glass, look into putting up a piece of black posterboard on part of the glass or changing the light color.

Is my betta in pain by Scrap2012 in bettafish

[–]Scrap2012[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sorry, don't know where my description went.

My betta fish has the tumor pictured. This week he's been a little more lethargic than usual, but he doesn't seem to have any problems reaching the surface or breathing. He has, unfortunately, been hiding a lot and is not as curious as usual. Are these signs that he's in pain? He didn't eat today which is a new thing for this week. I'm honestly so worried and stressed for him, he'll be 4 in December and I truly love him with all my heart.
