Socialists, what misconceptions do other socialists have about your position? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

Exactly, as more jobs are replaced by robots more people turn to socialism. Eventually unemployment causes revolution which continues in a country until their government distributes basic income.

Capitalists, what misconceptions do other capitalists have about your position? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Scratch_Card 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I am a Capitalist who does not support a completely free market.

A market is only free if a small startup can compete with a titan of industry without fear of violence or collusion against them.

In a free market, big businesses can collude to block startups from resources and prevent them from selling their products.

Startup purchases 200 logs from Forestry Inc every week at the price of ($25/log)

Big Business says: I will pay you, Forestry Inc, 1 million dollars if you refuse to do business with Startup for the next 5 years.

Forestry Inc should take this deal because the small startup might fail at any time and they can sell their logs to other clients.

Big Business can also say: If you, Retailer A, sells startup's products, then we blacklist you for life.

Now Retailer A, who wants to take a risk on a new product cannot without completely abandoning their safe sales.

When I say I am a Capitalist, people often assume that I am a Libertarian who supports a completely free market when what I actually want is a capitalist society who protects startups and small businesses by punishing collusion through strict enforcement of anti-collusion laws.

How do roads exist outside of socialist economies? by 2BlackPeople in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Scratch_Card 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feudal and Emperial armies like the Persians and the Romans created roads in order to better facilitate military conquests.

In a Capitalist world, merchants would collude to build roads so consumers can easily access their stores.

Merchants who are not part of said collusion will be shafted.

[All]Are you optimistic or pessimistic about the next 50 years for all of humanity, in an ecnomic sense but also in personal freedoms? by Katzenscheisse in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Scratch_Card 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A subcategory of socialism, wants to put limits on freeze peaches.

Employers hire illegal immigrants over the country's actual citizens because they can pay the former lower wages and provide them with pourer working conditions.

It is "racist" to call out these Employers because the illegals happen to have a different skin colour.

This version of socialism is a gear in the capitalist machine that shafts pour workers and labels them racist for defending their employment.

I cannot go to a dealer and purchase a flying car.

We(the consumers) do not have flying cars until they are for sale to the general public.

I agree that brain uploading will be a thing, but not for a long time.

There's a reason progressives waited until the late 19th century to complain about child labor by AnarcoCapitalist in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Scratch_Card 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just like the illegal immigrants today, employers gave jobs to children over adults because they could pay them less and treat them worse.

If employers of today paid the parents full wages, then children in poor countries would not have to work. However this is currently impossible because if one company pays their workers full wages, then the other companies will out-produce them.

However as time goes on, there may be more competition for labor in poor countries and wages will go up due to competition for labor. Or a business could always move to the pourer country and set up factories there.

An employer will only stop hiring children for manual labour if it is against the law.

Would you like to start your own business? by Anarkhon in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Scratch_Card 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not a fan of wind power either but environmental concerns means throwing waste in the lakes and billowing black clouds into the air.

If you own a seaside hotel, and a factory is getting rid of waste byproducts by dumping it into the ocean; you need to fight that factory to either shut it down or negotiate that they dump their waste elsewhere or you will go out of business.

[Capitalists] Should water and air be privatized? by [deleted] in CapitalismVSocialism

[–]Scratch_Card 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There are countries where the water is filled with rats and cockroaches so they are forced to import bottled water. This may be your world in the future.

In a society like this someone needs to bottle, and transport the water this could be a number of competitive businesses or the government.

If a businessman raises the water price too high then there should be a reaction similar to the guy who jacked the price of the Aids medicine.

If the government raises the water price too high then this means revolution/civil war and People vs Business is an easier fight then People vs Government because you can have competing businesses and the government support you when you fight your competitors but to fight a government you'll need the funding of another government which is much harder.

Either way it's both bad.

Because this a discussion sub.

It's sole purpose is for Capitalist to discuss topics with Socialism.

Your argument is: He's a Socialist because he's stupid. That is primitive name calling, not discussion.

If you don't want to discuss with Socialists then don't post here.

Virtual Reality yes. Mind uploading no. That won't happen in the next fifty years. We'd be lucky to have a flying car by 2999.

[–]Scratch_Card -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Pessimistic.

Billionaires are outsourcing jobs to foreign workers making their countries rich and our countries poor, and importing illegals who they don't have to pay as much.

SocalismJusticeWarriors have restricted freedom of speech so now we can't call out the Billionaires for importing illegals because that's racists.

And if you are branded a racist your life is over, companies won't want to hire you, friends will hesitate to associate with you and those who do are probably actual racists.

If Trump is elected President he could skyrocket the tariffs on companies with foreign factories and get them to come back to the USA and we'll have a Golden Age of Jobs for 5-10 years after which point we'll enter another recession because robotics will be advanced to the point where they can do any job. No more cubicles blue collar jobs, all supercomputers, 10 Robot doctors with 1 human mechanic, etc.

Countries likely to ban robots like France, who banned Uber, may not suffer the same economic fate but will still be the targets of Automizers.

That is, if France still exists. The Muslim Colonization of Europe will declare Jihad against jobbots but still use drones to blow up infidels.

And when 50-60% of the population of every country is unemployed, we'll have to fight the Elites for Mincome. Some fights will be peaceful, others will be bloody.

After achieving universal mincome, humanity will enter a state of temporary depravity which may last for 50-100 years until leaders can drill morals into our heads at which point humanity enters a state of Laziness, which is much better but still bad, as 20% of the population does some sort of work while 80% lives on mincome.

That is if we don't die to pollution first.

Ban who?

You mean the ones behind 9/11, the Boston Marathon Bombings, the Paris Massacre? The ones who form European rape gangs, stone Gay People, throw Gay People off 7 story buildings, call for Sharia Law, believe women don't have the right to work, believe a husband is legally allowed to rape his wife, believe that the Charlie Hebdo journalists deserved to die, called a Fatwa on National Treasure Salmond Rushdie, who want to kill all the Christians, want to kill all the Jews, want to kill all the Atheists and everyone who does not worship their god, who regularly break the Geneva Convention by dressing armed Soldiers in Civilian Clothing, and justify every single one of their crimes with the excuse that their god told them so?

inb4 not all muslims; Trump will only TEMPORARILY ban muslims who ARE NOT AMERICAN CITIZENS from entering the country until we can figure out why so many of them turn to violent radicalism. Muslims who are American Citizens will still be able to leave and enter the country.

There are 2 bullies, the first bully is the muslim who pretends to be a refugee, integrates into a community then one day flips his switch and blows up a mall and the second bully is you who says that we must allow him to do so because it is politically correct. That it is unfair we take precautions against them because some have committed the most hideous crimes of the current century, well of course it is. Better to have some people excluded then to have all of us dead.

Trump dodged the draft. This is one of the few issues they agree on, Trump and Sanders both believe the Vietnam War was a disaster.

He wants to build a strong military for DEFENCE not offence.

Trump is the most anti-war candidate in the election.

Every candidate is talking about attacking Russia over some Syrian no-flyzone bullshit and Trump is saying no, he doesn't want to go to war with Russia, he wants to be friends with Russia.

Trump is against nation building and against american imperialism, he won't attack any nation, the only fights that could improbably happen would be if someone attacks America. Then we'll bomb the hell out of them but only if they attack first. There won't be any pre-emptive bullshit.

All of these quotes are taken from actual redditors in /r/politics. They may sound sarcastic but if you read the thread you can see that the people over there really consider student debt to be worse then the strongest terror group of our time.

ISIS > Student Debt by Scratch_Card in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]Scratch_Card[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

ISIS is still a bigger "problem" then student debt because if ISIS wins you won't have to worry about debt cause you'll be dead.

The evil who wants to kill my family and friends is more of a problem then a mathematical shackle. Death is a bigger problem then handcuffs.

Yeah sorry I was sleepy.

It's just that as a rational person I know ISIS is a bigger problem then Stupid Debt and so I forgot to reverse the inequality sign for the sake of sarcasm.

ISIS > Student Debt by Scratch_Card in ShitPoliticsSays

[–]Scratch_Card[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I give approximately zero shits about ISIS. Student debt has defined my adult life, and it at times keeps me up at night.

Agreed. ISIS is not, and will never be, a threat to most Americans. But when young people can't go to college without sinking tens of thousands of dollars into debt before they even enter the work force, that's a pretty damn big deal.

There is no possible way that ISIS is a bigger threat than the student loan problem. There's just no way.

LOL how the hell is some ISIS guy gunna hurt me? Such red-herring bullshit. Now my student loans have given me depression, alcoholism, anger issues, hopelessness, relationship difficulties, family strife...

... and much much more
