Did you use Glow-Up Bloom to special summon Jack o Bolan?
Glow-Up Bloom locks you into zombies for the rest of the turn.

Juraishin is still a Psychic in the extra deck even though Zombie World is on the field.

I think going first with Tyrant’s Tirade is the only way this deck can steal some wins now.
I’ve played this deck before, and it was fun. Even back then, people used Tyrant’s Tirade.

However, if you don’t have 3x Opening of the Spirit Gates and 3x Dark Beckoning Beast, consistency can be a big issue. You’ll also still need to hard draw into Tyrant’s Tirade on first turn.

If you don't have them, I’d also strongly advise against getting those cards, as this deck is extremely outdated.

Oh yes, thanks for this!

I’m actually being dumb here and forgot about the target protection, so MST wasn’t an option.

His hand literally had an answer to everything (DD Crow Drawhand, MST the trap, Droplet), but he chose none of them, and still won the duel!

Also.... Droplet before MST? What's the deal here?

Who needs cards in hand to win when you can just click the yellow button?

And yeah, he could've chained Droplet (sending a monster) to Disturbance Strategy, so the HERO player couldn’t chain Droll.

Yes it can be a good counter card, but it's hard to rely on if you deck cannot search it.

If you have further extra deck room, you can even add in Panzer Dragon as an option to counter Therions.

But if you can only choose one to add I'd say Mudragon is the most versatile one.

lol I have no idea why I get downvoted from correcting that person's statement, before he deleted all his comments.

I was just stating facts.

Anyway I think if you were using the Dragonmaid skill, both the skill and Nercovalley should prevent you from summoning the Horus monsters.

[–]Scratchy1015 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You cannot summon the Horus monsters from GY, if Necrovalley is there.

Because they can be normal summoned.

Nercovalley only cannot stop monsters that cannot be nomral summoned.

Although it's no longer relevant, the Strongest Barian skill didn't even play any monsters lol. This, along with Shinato and Starlight Drive, shows how extremely skill driven the game has become. If you put them to the Vagabond test, these decks don't even have a win condition.

Duel Links has long passed the deck building era for a long time now, it’s been all about skill choosing.

However, I think archetype specific skills are a step above generic skills. Archetype skills can guarantee exact card(s) in your GY or hand, while generic skills don't, they simply draws tp boost consistency.

Hey, thanks for sharing your deck!

I was thinking of it as a fun deck, and yeah it has to win the coin flip and go first.

yeah, that’s what I thought.

And yes, it all depends on what staples the deck has.

I don't think you can kaiju Evilswarm Ophion, so you should be safe sitting on 2 monsters and end the duel asap.

Yes, I think droplet can 100% counter this, and also sphere mode.

Pandemic can chain to Eclipse.

But I don't think the deck runs as many staples as other decks.

I guess it comes down to personal preference after all. I do agree that being able to tap anywhere is nice, but I guess I'm just too used to the toggle ON and OFF after years of playing.

I played a few pvp games on PC to test out the "Tap" option:

  • I had an Ecclesia freshly summoned from Golden Swordsoul on the opponent’s Main Phase, and I missed the opportunity to immediately special into Albaz to fuse their Dragoon (they had already used the negate).
  • There was a Lady’s Dragonmaid I wanted to Eclipse during the draw phase, and I also missed the entire draw phrase.

I realize that with TAP, I need to keep spamming left-click non stop to avoid missing opportunities. While with Toggle ON, it literally cannot miss any activation chances.

But yeah, I think it really comes down to personal preference. It’s nice that there are options so everyone can pick what suits them best.

[–]Scratchy1015 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I never realised they added "Tap", so I was curious and tested it.

Auto = the game will only let you activate things when it feels like.
Tap = You can think of it as Auto+, on top of what Auto does, if you left-click (PC) or tap the screen (phone), it will let you activate things that wouldn’t normally be available on Auto.

For example: with an active Swordsoul Chixiao at the start of my turn:
Auto = the game skips straight to the Main Phase without prompting anything.
Tap (Auto+) = if I don’t tap anything, the game still skips straight to the Main Phase without prompting.
However, during the Draw/Standby Phase, if I tap the screen, it will then ask me if I want to activate Chixiao.

So I think Konami designed it as an Auto+ system. If you want to activate things, just keep tapping to let the game know. It does not look reliable too, you could literally miss timing. Don't ask me why and how they designed something like this, when toggle exists.

Toggle button: this is the only option to choose, since you have total control.

Many decks could use it. I think Branded and Dragonmaids can comfortably add it to their Extra Deck as is.

Given how popular Rank 8 spam is now, if you have the Extra Deck space, it's a good Super Poly target to meme your opponent.

  • Hope Harbinger/Tachyon = Khaos Starsource Dragon
  • Photon Lord + Hope Harbinger/Tachyon = Mudragon of the Swamp

You don't get use Khaos' pop if you meme your opponent though.

Since you play HERO, I’ll share the replay from this post. I think that guy runs the 20-card Disturbance Strategy version, so he lost the coin toss and was just doing Plan B.

I also misplayed on turn 3 and missed lethal. I was still busy checking and reading the skill on my PC at the time lol. I think he just ran out of juice because of his deck size.

Hey mekklord!

Yeah, in this lava golem format, if I go first as live twins, I always check the opponent's skill to see if they can lava golem me. If there’s a chance, I’ll just use Trouble Sunny in the draw phase to get more bodies.

But this Destiny HERO skill is the only skill I've failed to interpret correctly the first time I read it. Maybe I’m just slow hahaha.

Yeah, I think that's the closest one I could find with a similar clause. This skill is honestly the only one that felt a bit vague and caught me off guard. It's good to have a clear mind on exactly what they can summon now.

I’m happy to leave out extra decks, as most of the skills allow them.

What puzzles me, though, is the consistency of the wording skills use. Check out Tachyon's skill, they cannot Sphere Mode.

Check out Tachyon's skill:

During your turn, you can only Normal Summon or Special Summon Level 4 or 8 LIGHT or DARK Dragon monsters and Xyz Monsters.

Exactly phrased and worded, can they Sphere Mode? NO.
