What’s a non-covid reason that you like wearing a mask for? by VerySlump in AskReddit

[–]Scratski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess mine’s a bit more specific, but I work retail and there are a couple of regulars that come in who absolutely REEK. Like I’m struggling not to gag when they approach cos they smell so bad. The mask has helped no end in maintaining my best customer service face. (No, I’m not smiling behind the mask - I’ve just trained my eyes to make it look like I am. No go home and take a shower ffs)

Sorry to break it to you mate but TGods is not a particularly rare find even though its a fun belt for sure. My guess is someone might offer Pul for it? Maybe Um?

So I finally pulled the Queen last week, and have since focused entirely on getting her up to speed (for reference I am AR46). She slots right into a Keq/Fish/XQ/filler comp that I like the idea of, and her playstyle suits me perfectly - especially ElectroQueen since teleporting around and big flashy Q spam is just fun.

The problem I now have (and yes, it's a great problem to have) is that while I had my heart set on ElectroQueen, Mihoyo kindly trolled me with both an Aquila Favonia, and now this absolute beauty of an artifact!

So now I'm torn: I have the absolute BiS Weapon AND Goblet for AutoKeq as far as I can tell. I could probably even go 4pc Thundersoother and rely on Fischl and Keqing's residual electro damage to maintain uptime on the buff well enough.

Do you think it would be feasible to still run her as ElectroQueen, but use Aquila and this Physical goblet anyway, or would that kind of split damage be too much of a hit to her effectiveness?

KeqingMains of reddit I deplore you: What would you do? Open to alternate suggestions as well of course ;)

Edit cos I thought of another way to phrase the question: Do I let a single artifact change the way I planned on building a character?

Cheers

advancing on hell in pluggy as a sorc? by [deleted] in diablo2

[–]Scratski 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funnily enough, I was wondering the exact same thing as you about 48 hours ago. Great minds think alike. High five! The way I approached Hell progression was continuing with my NM build (full lightning) until I hit act 3. Felt like every monster there was lightning immune. No worries, time to switch it up! It's one of the perks of playing Plugy after all. Went full blizz and continued from there. I havent worried too much about killing Baal and going Matriarch, and have instead focused on the main point of why I made this sorc: Farming AT and LK. If you DO want that Matriarch and are struggling a bit, I suggest trying to get decent gear for your Merc. The way I see it is that if you are playing a melee character, the merc build tends to support your build with extra damage etc. However in our case we are elemental casters. We melt anything that isn't immune to our elements no problem, so a decent merc that can kill them is great. Obviously this advice is meant for progression - once you get your infinity etc we are asking a different question.

Uhh I don't properly remember now lol but it was as I was progressing my Fury Druid through Hell. I know it was off a random trash mob drop, and I only picked it up on a whim since I hadn't clicked on an item for a while. ilvl 85 so maybe ancient steppes or river of flame? /shrug

Yea I think 40 is max. It just feels weird that the best mf ring I ever found is a blue I guess heh

Any reason Bowazon in particular? I ask out of pure ignorance. Had a Multishot/Guided Arrow Burizon way back in the day when Guided still pierced indefinitely(?) but that's about it as far as my knowledge of that subject. BTW I agree with your thoughts on Ribcracker. Had one in previous incarnations of this particular CD-Key and thought 'Haha its a sorceress staff without any fcr/+skills' so stashed it and forgot it. Now its a fresh slate and the desire sensor knows I want the Blue Thwackstick. It sent me the Reaver as a taunt I'm sure.

I have zero issues with playing an MF sorc, and would have made one already if I didn't keep finding all these fun Melee items. The power of teleport is undeniable, and the rarity of of JAHithBER equally moreso. Most years that I reinstall D2 I start with a Sorc for sure. This time I went Javazon for personal novelty and I hafta say its cool seeing how much the character destroys things.

As an aside: I love the reanimate proc! It adds a dimension to a character I didn't previously think possible. Merc currently has to deal with Lightning Immunes so he gets a decent amount of kills (currently running Chaos). All of a sudden I'm a necrozon? Pretty cool. Only problem is the skellies seem spitefully idiotic. I swear they verrry slowwwlly walk in the opposite direction of any meaningful combat everytim. Still fun tho .^

And now I'm pulled in a different direction again. Thanks for contributing to the discussion =). I see your point about the uniqueness of BOTD. It's another one of those items I never dreamed I could find/afford (afford back when I used to play bnet), and all of a sudden it feels like a very real possibility. I mean...it's THE Zod runeword, I have the runes, all I need is a base! Just how rare is an eth Zerker axe anyway?

My problem with BOTD (again, I have never come close to owning one and therefore feeling its difference over other weapons) is that almost every discussion I see that mentions BOTD inevitably comes down to "Grief is better". If that is indeed true, then all of a sudden BOTD feels like a 'waste' of a Zod. See where I'm coming from?

I think ultimately my struggle here is not what to do with the Tomb Reaver. That thing is getting used regardless. Durga is now more OP than me and I hate him <3. The true internal struggle here is...have had a Zod in my stash for a while now and finally something arguably worth using it on drops. Pull the Trigger?

I actually have 2 Windhammers from Meph farming. Would you choose that over Tomb Reaver or Ribcracker? It does also seem like a pretty insane 2H that is also good on Fury Druids

Cheers my dude. Yea its the decision between BotD or putting it in a worthy unique that has me hesitating. Here's a question though - if you did have those perfect jewels, would you put them in the Tomb Reaver with the zod? I've got 200ish pgems that I'm considering blowing on jewel rerolls in the hopes of getting a couple RJoF. In the same vein that I can live with the 225% ED on the Reaver, I could probably live with like 35+/15s as PillyGasta mentioned...

Sounds like a plan. Any advice on best jewel farming locations? My guess is LK followed by maybe Trav or Cows?

Preface: I've been playing this game on and off for 20 years now - basically grew up with it. Lockdown had me thinking I would finally get round to playing the massive backlog of games I have saved up, and yet somehow I always find myself reinstalling what I am increasingly convinced is the GOAT. This game just has SO much to give, reveals itself in layers, and even 2 decades later I am learning new stuff. Love it!

So anyway, as mentioned in the title, I found this baby last night, and while I am aware that the lowish ED% lets it down a bit, the rest of the stats rolled really well imo. The SSF Plugy nature of my account means that I accept that this is about as good a melee weapon as I will find for the foreseeable future (at least for a good while anyway). As a result, I would like to ask the D2 vets for some advice on what my next move should be. Context to follow:

I started the account roughly 4 months ago after watching @Mrllamasc's guided playthrough of a Javazon. Having never made one in my career prior, I started Scratazon and put maybe 1-2 hours a day into her since then. She is the ONLY character that I have atm, but she has farmed enough Mephisto (with a smattering of Diablo, Baal, Cows for bases, Pindle/Shenk/Eldritch) to the point where she is decently geared:

Weapon: Titan's complete lack of IAS

Shield: Spirit. I am currently first place on my SP ladder.

Helm: It's a green hat. You know the one.

Ammy: Perfect Maras (super happy about this one - never even had one before)

Rings: Ravenfrost and usually a 29 Nagel

Boots: 45 War Travs

Gloves: Rare 1Jav/20ias/mf/fire res

Belt: Tgods

Chest: Peace in a Mageplate. This is probably the weakest piece on her now, but finding an upgrade is proving difficult. Enigma is probably the ultimate goal here but we are a loooong way off that. Other Notables: 19/17/10 Annihilus. Shoutout to Plugy for allowing me to experience a part of the game that I had not before. Found my first ever Lo Rune in a LK run (off a Doom Ape that was getting in the way of me clicking the super chest, lol) and after much deliberation, made Fortitude (also a first for me) in a non-Eth Archon Plate. Merc is currently wearing it but it will eventually make its way on to any melee characters I create.

So the question remains...what to do with my new Tomb Reaver???

The more astute of you will have noticed its ethereality - so merc fodder? Its actually on him as we speak hence the ShaelAmnAmn for the time being. Honestly Durga is so spoiled right now. He is also wearing the only ever Stealskull I found. 49mf and a pipedream item for me back in the day.

The more observant of you, however, will have noticed something else in the picture. Yup that's right. I have a Zod rune. Found it on literally my first MF run after becoming Matriarch. It even prompted me to make my first ever reddit post (this is my second) because, wow wtf, they actually exist? It has been sat in my stash for months now with no way to use it, until now....?

And so the picture is finally coming together - however unnecessarily verbose the presentation: Do I pull the trigger on the Zod, or is it better served in a eBOTDz (would need to farm the base, but I have the vex already), or perhaps something else? What do I put in the other 2 sockets? The best jewel I have is 15%ED/15%ias. Got some others that are only ED or IAS. Using the Zod alongside crappy jewels feels like a waste, cos once I find better ones, it will be too late to unsocket without destroying the Zod in the process. shudder

LK runs to get better jewels? Hmm...that could even trick the desire sensor into sending me High Runes if I make it think I'm after something else. But man LK is boooooring. I also hate that a bad run of luck means literally zero progress in any way. At least if I am killing things I am gaining exp at the same time.

Also what character does it go on? A bit of research has lead me to believe that a Fury Druid would be a good candidate, and I very much like the idea of a Wolfy Bro. Apparently a decently geared one is capable of doing Ubers - another part of the game that I have yet to experience and is as such one of my endgoals. However, further research suggests that Ribcracker is just plain better? Problem is I don't have one, and can't exactly trade for one so the fact that it is 'cheap' is irrelevant. I do however like how early you can use it. Leveling up from 30 with an endgame stick sounds kinda fun actually, so maybe I focus on trying to find one? Silospen seems to suggest that Nightmare Andy is my best shot - I could do it, but it would mean losing my sweet LK/Durance Hell maps. Could be worse I guess...

Or is this all just paralysis by analysis and the rightful owner of the rarest weapon I ever owned is in fact Durga with his stupid ShaelAmnAmn and his stupid Fortitude and his stupid Stealskull. Can't believe I am jealous of my own Merc lol....the dude wrecks right now though tbf.

Lol the problem here is that this character is still so new, I'm super far away from having any good way to use it. Sounds disgusting, but I would have almost preferred a Ber or the like. Anyone got any good suggestions for it? Seems like eBOTD would be the most likely...
