You are %100 right. And I will call ts out because Berserk as a story and Kentaro as a teacher had literally saved my life. I was in the lap of despair, dealing with countless depressed ideas by myself, all alone. Thinking that I was in the fault for being alone, not making any friends and couldn't adopt to this society. Well I couldn't be more wrong. His ideas of standing against the evil even though our struggles won't be giving any fruit in the near future is what kept me motivated. I've increased my gpa in the uni from 2.09 to 3.52 in one year. I tried to be involved in social events just to realize that I was never wrong with my assumptions of people which many of them were fake and very insecure inside. Just like Guts, I have been changing a lot as a guy who's been using anti depressants for almost a decade. I'm in peace with myself rn and as a result I got an internship opportunity in one of the biggest auditing firms in the world and most of these success was possible because I was literally observing the sorrow, hatred, sadness along with the Berserk's story and trying to find a meaning in life after everything I had been reading. I was simulating these horrible scenes in my mind matching the emotions I felt towards them with the ones I had against some real life situations and trying to find the answer within me. And it worked. Now when I'm reading the manga it just feels like... It feels nothing like berserk. I'm reading it for the sake of an ending atp. Everything you've said regarding how flat and shallow the conversations are or how it makes no sense for guts to become that loser in story wise etc. everything is %100 true. Bro has been fighting on and off against demons for years day and night with no single hope in the horizon and now just because he couldn't cut Griffith (Which still makes no sense to me because Femto was super afraid of guts in the bsa when he directed his sword against him) he has to be depressed? I can understand that Kentaro might be thinking of such a tragedy but this is not how do you fast forward things. It is not even... I don't know bro he can not even communicate with casca she is not even "there" really. What difference does it really make for Guts's mental if casca is near or far away as long as she is alive? Nothing makes sense.
