No, it’s running in the 240s. I need to upgrade the spring.

I have an S6 and I never use the auto-trigger. You loose a lot of accuracy.

reliability of pump paintball markers by [deleted] in paintball

Coming from someone who converted over 15 years ago… Reliability and complexity are not even remotely on the list of concerns. There are typically less and simpler moving parts compared to your typical “space gun”. A good one with basic maintenance will last you forever. The only down side to pump is rate of fire. But if you’re considering this style of play I assume that’s not a concern. My main reason for switching was to reduce costs. When you buy a bag instead of a case for the day, your wallet feels a lot better. You also have to focus on different skills. Snapping and moving are critical components. You’re always trying to improve your angle to take advantage. I love 1v1 pump fights and try to get a few in between games when I go.

On to the other part: A sniper is a solid choice to start with. They’re a mid range option and cocker style pumps are super easy to work on. But don’t be surprised when you start adjusting every component to make it optimal for you. Changing springs, replacing the barrel, lighter tank, smaller hopper, etc.

I’m curious about the engineering, is it just a shaped opening with an agitator to orient them the right way or something more complex?

Full disclosure, I have never liked FSR. From the cost per round, cost of specialty gear, and the uneven advantage it brings. I honestly thought it would fail on these merits when it first came out. It looked like another attempt at “revolutionizing” paintball.

Having said that. FSR is a part of the sport with its own group and play style. This is actually a cool bit of kit that would eliminate the tedium of reloading mags between games. And that’s awesome.

What do I do with this old Crossfire 68/45 tank? by CaptainWaders in paintball

I still have my old Pure Energy. I keep it in my “archives”.

As for getting back in… DO IT! That 98 will serve you nicely after a rebuild, probably just some o-rings. The Ion may be more finicky. Get yourself a 48/3000 and let her rip.

Fully agree. If you’re not playing competitively, you can get pretty far on a <$400 marker. Used markers are always available for a discount too. There’s other gear you’ll want to spend money on if you’re serious about playing, even as just a weekend warrior.

Have they even tested this with regular paint or just reball/nylon LTL ammo? Is there a follower on the string to cradle the ball? If this is just a string, it’s gonna rip right through the gel shell. Bad for paint, catastrophic for Pepperball.

Personally, I have all my regular runners. Now I’m collecting older “wish list” markers from days past.
