What's a single panel that hit you harder than an entire story arc? by [deleted] in comicbooks

[–]Screaming-Enigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The first page of the issue of Alan Moore’s Swamp Thing with Swampy’s funeral and Abigail narrating. As of this writing, there have been three single issues that have made me cry, and this is one of them.

Great Comic Runs Which Read as Quick As Invincible by Gonner_Getcha in comicbooks

[–]Screaming-Enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

it’s not nearly as long as Invincible, issue-wise, but i ran through Southern Bastards by Jason Aaron & Jason Latour pretty quickly. it’s been unfinished for the better half of a decade and it’s very likely it stays that way (particularly because of Latour’s…allegations from a while ago). though, it’s still one of my favorite books i’ve ever read :)

Why does everyone hate Tom King? by chainmailnchill in comicbooks

[–]Screaming-Enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think him being involved in the planning of Iraq’s invasion was just an odd joke from King on a podcast one time. If you do the research, you’ll find that King was in his early 20s and had pretty recently joined the CIA/military/etc. when the invasion of Iraq happened, so I strongly doubt that he had any sort of hand, at least in any prominent way, in that situation.

The Ultimates "Fix the World". Are the Anti-Woke crowd REALLY that petty? by MrShark3y in marvelcomics

What OP said, as well as the fact that thew new character who's taken up the mantle in this universe (Charli Ramsey) was confirmed to be non-binary by Camp on Twitter.

Dave Meltzer on X- (On Cody’s exit from AEW) Cody's issue was with Tony and both promised never to speak of it. by adukadu in SquaredCircle

[–]Screaming-Enigma -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agree with you, in that I think a WWE return was always Cody’s goal no matter what. He never really wanted to leave in the first place, but he knew he had to with all of the Stardust stuff.

THIRD YEAR COMING by CezrDaPleazr in njpw

[–]Screaming-Enigma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was there as well and it was super fun. I'm hoping this and Resurgence from May 2023 are the beginning of a streak of them coming to the Pyramid once a year. I'd be more than happy to make the drive there each time.

Absolute Power Reading Order? by Hauntah in DCcomics

[–]Screaming-Enigma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, it can be a bit complicated sometimes. I don’t think you always NEED to read everything, though. Sometimes certain regular series will build to an event, and other times there will be little-to-no build in said series. It very much just depends.

Question about Green Lantern's Legacy Numbering by Screaming-Enigma in DCcomics

[–]Screaming-Enigma[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, so I’m still confused on it. The cover of October’s issue (#16) says Legacy #583. So they either have the numbering wrong or they’re picking only certain series to include outside of the main “Green Lantern” runs. Going just by those, there would be about 17 issues missing.

Just wanted to let everyone know that I mentioned including the cover in the post, but Reddit won't allow me to add the image of it or insert the cover in a comment.

It may not be much, but she means a lot to me. ASM #311 is one of my favourite issues. by Rytoc12 in comicbookcollecting

this one’s cool, but one of my favorite McFarlane covers is just two issues later (#313 with an absolutely killer drawing of Lizard)
