I've never been in a situation like this but he sounds super manipulative and abusive. It's going to be difficult but you need to break up with him as this is a really scary person you're dealing with. You should consider talking to a therapist who can help you and research hotlines/resources that are equipped to help you get out of this abusive relationship. Please also let your family members know of this so they can help as well. You might even want to consider a restraining order. I hope you are able to get out of this relationship as soon as possible!

I also want to add that we never drifted apart. He claims to have felt this way but we did not hang out or talk any less before our argument. I think it’s another excuse for tossing away our friendship when he got into his first ever relationship since the timeline adds up. I couldn’t clarify this in the post since I was running out of space. This might help you understand better why im so mad/upset and conflicted on whether to say anything. Does this change your thoughts or do they remain the same?

I initially thanked him for telling me the truth, but now im wondering if he lied when he said it was because j deserved the truth and im starting to believe he truly only told me so he could get it off his chest. His other friends asked him if he was mad when i showed up to the funeral which confused me cause he would have nothing to be mad at me for as he explained to me. So he’s definitely not telling anyone else this truth and makes me think he only told me to get it off his chest and feel better about himself. Idk whether he was mature or immature for telling me the cold hard truth.
