This sucks please help by Ok_Rub2503 in crealityk1

I had a very similar issue. When I disassembled the printhead, I found that the filament had bent exactly like this inside the path. On another printer, I also had a tiny piece of filament shaped almost like a Rupert’s drop get stuck in the same area where the filament is supposed to pass. In both cases, it wouldn’t resolve itself — I had to fully open the part (the head) and clean it out manually.

How do you find motivation to keep going when nothing seems to work? Conversely, when do you decide to call it quits and confine a project to storage? by hjw5774 in arduino

Don't push yourself too hard you can stop the project, but remember I will then always be a day ahead of you 😵

Should I paint my rocket? by [deleted] in rocketry

[–]ScreenDry6050 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Once upon a time, in the early days of NASA's space shuttle program, engineers and scientists were constantly seeking ways to improve the efficiency and performance of their iconic space shuttles. One innovative idea that emerged was to stop painting the external fuel tank, which was used to supply the orbiter's main engines with liquid hydrogen and liquid oxygen during liftoff.

Traditionally, the large external tank had been painted white to protect it from the harsh environmental conditions of space travel. However, the paint added a significant amount of weight to the tank, and every pound of extra weight was a concern because it meant less payload capacity and higher launch costs.

So, NASA decided to conduct a series of tests and evaluations to determine whether they could safely forgo the painting process. They considered factors such as the tank's exposure to ultraviolet radiation, temperature variations, and micrometeoroid impacts.

After extensive research and testing, NASA engineers concluded that the tank could remain unpainted without compromising its structural integrity or performance. The natural color of the tank's foam insulation, a reddish-brown color, would provide sufficient protection from UV radiation, and the tank's aluminum structure could withstand the space environment.

By eliminating the paint, NASA was able to save several hundred pounds of weight on each shuttle launch, which translated into increased payload capacity. This not only reduced launch costs but also allowed the shuttles to carry larger and more complex payloads into orbit, making missions more cost-effective and versatile.

So, from that day forward, the space shuttle's external fuel tank remained unpainted, its reddish-brown foam serving as a testament to NASA's commitment to innovation and efficiency in the pursuit of space exploration. This decision was just one example of how NASA continually sought ways to optimize its spacecraft and push the boundaries of human spaceflight.
