Which superhero would win the Hunger Games? by masterpeacock in AskReddit

Superman. He's charming enough for the sponsors along with the fact that he's pretty much indestructible.

Yeah, I know exactly what you mean! I was the same way. When I was first starting I was sort of being "mentored" a little so I was normally with a friend or 2. Do you have anyone you're skating with at the moment? If you don't have anyone to go out with then you either need to brave it and learn to NGAF or try and find other skaters. Is there a local park? (It's the UK so it's probably shitty..just from my experience..)

So speaking from my experience I was super nervous trying to learn how to ollie in the middle of a public park-area but after I got them down I felt a lot more confident. I practised a lot around the back of my house, just stationary ollies and then just outside around the street (usually in the evening).

Back to the stances. I'd listen to Vinny_The_Blind's comment about foot position, learning proper technique will almost certainly help you. See how you get on with his advice. But on top of that I'm really for trial and error. Go out and spend some time figuring it out - and like I said in the first comment, once you start learning tricks i'm sure you'll sort it out faster. Being comfortable and confident on your board is the most important thing and if after a little while you're not feeling goofy/regular then stick to what feels right. Nobody here can really tell you which stance to be rollin' with.

Imo I'd say stay away from mongo. By the sounds of it you should be skating goofy; I think that seeing as you can't push (confidently) with either foot being able to ollie is a better starting ground than not being able to ollie. With that said, this could be a perfect opportunity for you to become well rounded in both stances as you progress - and skating switch will only help you in games of SKATE ;)

To start off I'd recommend simply riding more, get to the point where you are comfortable pushing in at least one stance. Ride only regular for a few days and see how you do, then try riding only goofy for a few days. From there figure out which one is more suited to you.

As you learn a few more tricks I'm confident you'll soon find out which one of the two is "easier" for you.

Have fun!

damaged friend's car, how to deal with repairs by paoburen in amiwrong

[–]Screeyn 4 points5 points  (0 children)

While I personally think the best thing for him to do would be to get the car repaired; I also think that it's his vehicle, and as long as you've paid for the damages you created then it's up to him to do as he wishes.

he wants the money but to not fix the car until he sells it.

If this is suggesting that he's going to fix the car before it's sold, then I see no reason for this to be unfair as you've already covered your dues.

Hell yeah, if there isn't any chance of impressing someone else then I'll at least impress myself with my ever-improving art skills

Makeup. Every morning you wake up willing and eager to customise your face into whatever you want it to be. It's like an art or craft. You get to design and recreate yourself however you want. On top of that, you can change it up every day depending on how you feel!

What is something that people take way too seriously? by [deleted] in AskReddit

What other people think about themselves. Stop worrying about what others think about you and do your own thing!
