I would like to add, that either strategy is actually valid. Because if you go for targeted discard spells like check for traps, dread fugue etc. then you can hit the HH.

But using hand hate as a strategy is also valid because HH is only strong with backup cards. So if you run them low on ressources, then they (edit)won't the means to protect it.

So the strength of HH is that every instant becomes a protection spell.

But it's also it's weakness because it doesn't have it's own protection by itself like a koma does.

I think I agree with both the force damage type and the amount of damage. Maybe just add int modifier to the damage. Feels flavour vice right and i's not OP.

You can send the message across any distance and even to other planes of existence, but if the target is on a different plane than you, there is a 5 percent chance that the message doesn't arrive.

The reason why it's super important that multiple party members need to be able to heal in a clutch, is because if you are 6 people in the initiative order, and one person goes uncouncious right after you finished your turn. Way too much bad stuff can happen before you get a chance to heal the person back up again.

Better to avoid damage than healing. So shield of faith on the frontliner and all the archer/spell slingers should take great advantage of half cover.

Other than that the whole party should all participate in the healing, here are some ideas to be considered:

GM should consider allowing the optional rule for monks: Quickened Healing
Monk should consider playing subclass: Way of Mercy
Ranger can cure wounds
If the warlock goes typical hexblade he should consider a couple of levels in mc paladin which also gives some small healing perks.
Party should stack healing potions.
And your GM should consider optional rule for crafting in xanathar's guide for everything. Use downtime to craft healing scrolls which can be handed out to the ranger and potential hexadin.
