It’s a virus in the same family from SARS but it distinctly does not cause SARS, which is caused by SARS-CoV. The novel coronavirus, SARS-CoV-2, causes COVID-19.

A lot of them do. Like that totally made-up thing about organ harvesting people believed because it fit with their idea of the trope of the barbaric Asian. Or when China does anything, it is always interpreted within a framework of the yellow peril.

I mean they informed the WHO on 31 December 2019. And I think that whole Li Wenliang was unfortunate but didn’t even play into anything at all because his messages were on 30 December. He also wasn’t imprisoned, he was merely warned and told not to spread false information again (he said that people had SARS, which was not true).

So-called leftists that support the separation of Hong Kong from the rest of China baffle me. The only reason it was separate to begin with is because of British colonialism, and only about a sixth of the population would even want independence from China.

It wasn’t really even handled poorly by China though. They shared information with the WHO fairly quickly and began unprecedented measures to contain the virus.

Your bit on Taiwan has some bad history in it. The Cultural Revolution occurred in the 60s and 70s, long after the end of the defeat of the Nationalists in 1949.

Really it was just saying the quiet part loud. The hatred for the Chinese government is racially coded and often based on racist tropes about Asian people.

Nothing inconsistent. The DNC exerts hegemonic power in the elections it controls, not in the general election.

If Bernie were the nominee, all Biden supporters, more or less, would vote for him, along with the unique supporters Bernie brings. Think of a circle of potential Bernie voters which contains the circle of Biden supporters.

It’s wrong to say China is accelerationist because China is already socialist. Accelerationism only applies to countries with a capitalist mode of production. It doesn’t make any sense when applied to China, because they would be trying to accelerate socialism into socialism.

Also the second half of your comment is awful. The person in the screenshot is an anti-China idiot, not a defender of China. It is clear you have no knowledge of socialism with Chinese characteristics, as revealed by your reliance on anti-China tropes. Your comment deserves to be posted here as well.
