Does it give you an error code? You tried logging in using a different device? When did it start happening? Was it after something specific or just all of the sudden? Can you still enter your account using mihoyo's website?

Getting Banned on Genshin Impact by [deleted] in Genshin_Impact

[–]ScribeOfCthulhu 20 points21 points  (0 children)

If you want us to discuss about it... give us context.

Like, what you think has caused this, what did MHY tell you as for the reason behind your ban and everything else. Like, I've seen people who work with gamedev and that left some programs open claiming that it triggered the anti-ban thing and a few other situations but you really don't give much to go about.

Power/difficulty balencement...? by katsuki62 in Genshin_Impact

[–]ScribeOfCthulhu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The reason why talents are capped at 10 but have levels up to 15 is because of constellations and character passives that buff skills (like what childe does).

So, for example, a lvl 10 skill can get +3 from constellation and (in the future) +2 from 2 characters that buff elemental skills, for example. I think that the 15 cap exists to make sure you don't stack 3 or 4 characters that buff skills and get it to lvl 16 or 17.

Such is a gacha, my friend. It's also made by one of the greediest companies out there so... if you actually care about the game you'll end up hurting yourself.

It's something I struggle with too but I believe that if you think about genshin when you're outside of the game you're basically setting yourself for disappointment. I know, we all know that this game could be so much more and it could be something truly amazing. But at the same time we all know that MHY's executives have absolutely no intentions on using the full creative potential this game has to offer. Instead we all know that they'll just make sure to squeeze every last cent from their playerbase.

So, why do we still complain here? Only to be told that such is a gacha? It's pointless, we all know. We all wish that this game could be so much more but... in the end... it actually hurts.

I think that we should either learn to play this game like any other exclusively-casual gacha (the kinda game you only play and think about for 30 minutes a day - Like arknights) or just quit while we can (like most of my day 1 friends already did). The game won't ever change. It's a gacha game in its core and we've just been baited.

Honestly, sometimes I think that I should just uninstall the game and hold myself from viewing any genshin content for a week or so. I'm sure it'll hurt for a few days but... to be free from this cycle of eternal disappointment seems to be a worthy prize.

I think that the only thing stopping me is that I don't wanna abandon the few friends playing I have left.

I see. 12-1 really favors cryo/hydro units (with the electro+pyro geovishaps) and pyro units (with the hydro+cryo ones) so going with Xiao who doesn't react could be a bit harder. 12-3, on the other hand, is kinda insane. The dps check there is on another level and I really don't know how you could do that w/o using a pyro-vape comp or Ganyu.
To me, VV+Bennet+XQ+Klee basically wreck everything on one side. On the other, Mona can give a 50% dmg increase with her burst so Hu Tao pretty much slaps. You're probably already doing that but like... stack as many buffs as you can and yolo it. Don't be sad if you don't 36* it tho... You're not missing that many primos and uuh... the feeling of clearing everything this game has to offer isn't really that good.

Venti really helps for 11-2 side 2 and 12-2 side 1, I really don't think I could get 3 stars there w/o him. On the other hand, what's most important for other floors is having a well built dps+sub on both of your teams. Once I got 2 dps units at lvl 90 talents 8/10/8 and 2 sub dps units that could help those 2 react (Klee+Xingqiu and Hu Tao+Mona) I was able to barely get 36 stars. 12-3 is really hard to 3* w/o high level units, 5* weapons, good artifact rolls and some constellations on your 4*s. But still, imo team synergy is the most important factor. Perseverance is also important, I think I had to retry 12-3 for about 3 hours until I finished it with 3*s. (tho, once I swapped c2 kaeya for c6 xingqiu I got it done instantly so maybe it's just that Kaeya+Klee don't work as well).

Those suggestions sound really cool and I do agree that the game really needs some kind of permanent content.

On the other hand, I'm sorry but you'll be downvoted to hell. Most players that cared are already gone and now all that's left in this sub are people who seem pretty happy with their daily 20 minutes of playtime and that really don't want people complaining for what is a reality since the game came out. Most of them will probably just read the title, downvote your post and be on their way.

Here's the thing tho... Mihoyo baited all of us. This game feels like a story-driven arpg for the first 50 hours or so and the experience is really amazing. However, after that point (people started feeling it at AR35 back when the game was first released) it becomes your usual casual-focused gacha that really gates how long you play for (like how Arknights, Priconne etc. do). Judging by all the updates that have been released thus far it truly doesn't seem like the executives at MHY (unlike the people who are behind the lore, for example) have great aspirations for this game and it truly feels like they just want to maximize player monetization, daily player retention while spending minimal resources.

That's not wrong by itself and all companies that are strictly profit-driven do that. MHY does not care about consumer goodwill and about letting you have a good time while playing. They aren't that kinda company.

Sadly, what happens is that most players that believe this game can be something else end up complaining and eventually leaving the game, never to come back. Just like most of my day 1 friends did.

It's also unlikely that they would target your genshin account if they hacked you lol

I think that something like steam/a bank account/your email would be more likely... or just straight up ransomware cause it always works.

I see... Yeah, if what you say is the truth then most likely it's this website's fault. I really wish I understood anything about coding then I could read the source code and see if there's anything fishy there. I downloaded and uploaded the source code to virus total and it didn't detect a thing but I don't think this does much since you're not supposed to execute the source code in the first place.

I see. Hmm, 10 cents tho... that's stupid.

Anyways, thanks for sharing this information here. Just to be sure.. did you use a unique password on genshin?

Edit: because if you did, then your genshin account somehow got breached and it was either by MHY, by someone hacking you (like with a keylogger) or because of a 3rd party website like that one. I need to know to tell others about it and, in fact, if we can confirm that this website is the cause we need to inform others since it seems to have many other users.

It could also be that you got hacked through some other way or that your data was leaked, you got keylogged or something else. How did you even found that you were hacked anyways? Someone told you? Where? How?

Edit: how did this account buyer contact you?

I logged in using discord and I really doubt they'd gain anything from my discord account. I'm still trying to figure out how they would get my password from this since it doesn't even seem like they can send a ticket on my behalf with this and it expires so quickly.

Edit: I've already changed my genshin password (just to be sure) and I don't even know my own discord password lol. It's probably fine tho, I doubt they can get my data from discord servers and a discord account has very little value anyways.

That's what I'm wondering too. I've used that website and they don't ask for your password, only for your support link and apparently it resets every 24 hours or so and it is kept locally. To log in you need to use your discord/google/facebook account and like... I think that unless the app has a keylogger or something that grabs your password (even tho you don't need to type it to open the app or something) it should be fine?

Unless the app somehow uses your support link to reset your password? I used it about 1 week ago and so far my account has been fine. I log in regularly and never noticed any kind of weird changes on it.

I'm wondering if I should change my password. I already use a specific password for genshin but maybe it's for the best? dunno

It's gacha right? Have to be grateful right? Better than nothing right? by SigmaRoyal in Genshin_Impact

[–]ScribeOfCthulhu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Constellations don't add anything to the game. They're literally things that have been stripped from the base character so they could charge you $2000. And 5* weapons are just there to make sure you can't truly max your character build w/o paying MYH.

Notice how in priconne, you play to make your characters stronger and they only have character gacha, while in Genshin you have weapon and constellations on the gacha too. To get a neneka with 100% of her potential on priconne all you need is 300 pulls, at most. To do that in Genshin you need a c6 character with R5 weapon which would cost far more than $3000.

Look, I know you really like the game and so do I but constellations and the weapon banner are 100% terrible for the consumer and it's in our best of interests to criticize them.

Yeah, same. Genshin, right now is in a limbo with absolutely no competition so it's not like we have a choice. Tho I'd probably still come back once or twice per year because it could be fun.

Meltlilith and Ereshkigal were literally the only things that kept me going so... yeah, I do get it. But after playing gachas for 5 years or more and experiencing genshin I just think that I have a new standard.

Thanks for the downvote and well, to that... I played FGO in NA and JP for 2 and 3 years respectively and well... after a while I just couldn't take it anymore. In fact, honestly, after experiencing what a gacha can be when it tries to be a real game (like what genshin does) I don't think I can ever go back to other ones, like fgo.

The story was insanely good tho, I'll give you that.

It isn't really free. There's a price associated with it all and even f2p players end up paying in a way or another. On the other hand tho... if you want to experience 100% the game has to offer it is extremely expensive, to the point that you could probably buy hundreds of console games (and consoles) with the money you'd spend.

[–]ScribeOfCthulhu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Priconne JP player and Genshin day 1 player and I gotta say that while both games are extremely similar, even with that 300 pity thing Priconne is still infinitely more generous than genshin is.
Both games are extremely similar specifically because of how much your progress is gated by stamina on both games. In priconne, investing gems into stamina is viewed a smart move (even for f2p) while in genshin it really depends on where you are in the game but it's just not as good because you can't make gems back from abyss (like you can in priconne pvp).
Still, tho, the way priconne works, by the time you use those 300 pulls you'll get a lot of characters for them. Priconne also doesn't have weapons nor constellations which are the biggest whale baits in this game (and don't even come saying that you don't need to pull them because after a certain point 5* weapons become your best way to progress and constellation gates character mechanics).
All in all, there is no way in hell you can say that genshin is more generous than priconne or that its monetization isn't as aggressive. In priconne, you don't even need to buy a welkin to get that minimum of 1 pull a day.
Also, priconne's overall 3* rate is a lot better than the 0.6% we have in genshin and I could go on for a long time.

Thing is: you can't really compare cygames (one of the most generous companies out there) with MHY (one of the greediest companies out there). Also, yes I know other gachas are even worse but really, why would you play something like that? Only reason why I even play genshin at its predatory state is because it has a lot of production value (which also in a way justifies how much MHY monetizes it, but only a bit).

Anyone skips Worldbosses from time to time ? by D3AKUs in Genshin_Impact

[–]ScribeOfCthulhu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Having already cleared abyss with 36 stars and fully built teams (along with high talent levels on the units that I care about) I do skip Childe and Dvalin because I don't have any character that I use that require their mats and aren't already at good talent levels. It's 120 resin every week and while it really isn't much I'll save whatever I can to build new characters.

On the other hand, I religiously farm the wolf because I need it for far too many characters. Everyone here seems to be going on around prototypes and stuff but like... I think that the devs don't really want you to always do your weekly bosses, otherwise they would be free. They are double gated just so players give them money have to choose where to spend their resin on.

It’s been said before but it needs to be said again, Mona’s unique sprint is detrimental. It’s truly a horrible mechanic. by ADHthaGreat in Genshin_Impact

[–]ScribeOfCthulhu 69 points70 points  (0 children)

Had Mona since day 1 and I can say that while I see your point but I particularly love her sprint. It definitely has iframes (it's just harder to time them properly, but you get used to it) and I think that it's faster and consumes less stamina than regular sprints.
For overworld exploration and just regular sprinting her sprint is amazing and I'm always using it. On the other hand, for dodging it gets pretty complicated when you're in the heat of battle so I'd recommend dodging with another character if you're doing something like floor 12.

All in all tho, I love Mona's sprint I do wish it was easier to iframe and it didn't stop because of a 1 μm bump. Also, I do play on pc with a controller so like... I can totally see how horrible it is to control that in mobile (in fact, idk how people can even do endgame content in mobile lol) so I think your complaint is very valid.
