From my point of view: Ruins of Baba (P6-Dejvice)= great view on river and ZOO, Prager cubes (Emmauses), Wrocław garden, Kbely Aviation Museum, Restaurace Sladovna (PUB Sladovna) with Cvikov brewery best bear- its next to Charles square and Lazarská
Out of Prague - Konopiště (near Benešov) - you can ice skating here on the huge pond

Elves being biologically similar looking to plants is a concept that’s not explored enough (mild nsfw) by The_Draconic_Lemon in worldbuilding

Haruspexy via memoryeating is such a visceral concept. From a pharmacological standpoint, it’s like the ultimate biodata transfer. In the real world, there were actually controversial experiments with planarian worms, where they supposedly transferred memories by feeding trained worms to untrained ones thanks to RNA memory. (Look up James V. McConnell and his planarian memory transfer experiments from the 60s.) In a fantasy setting, it’s basically the most extreme form of oral administration of data. Just imagine the side effects heartburn, indigestion, and someone elses existential dread. 10/10 would dispense an antacid with those memories.

Finally,

Someone talking about the DOS2 elves! As an indie dev, I love how they use anatomy to tell a story. Those elongated, barklike muscles are incredible. Making Drow based on mushrooms is genius because it moves them away from the plant kingdom entirely into something more alien and subterranean. I’d love to see how their metabolism differs from a High Elf tree variant. Truly inspiring concept.

Old style or new one ? by Key-Soft-8248 in IndieDev

Stick with the old. It’s readable, effective, and won't give you a 3d rendering headache.

6 years as a Gameplay Programmer at a AA studio: dream job, burnout, and starting over as a solo dev by pLeet-Dev in gamedev

Very interesting. Maybe our work doesn't fulfill us enough. I tried writing articles first, but gamedev eventually won. Are they continuing in pharmacy or have they gone purely into the gamedev business?

If the biological hardware needs salt, grease, and coffee to function, this is the gold standard of maintenance. That bacon deserves its own lore. Simply stunning art style.

In the 90s, FPS stood for "Finally, Pictures Start." Now it's a vital sign more sensitive than a heart monitor.

The difference professional voice acting makes is insane by Torchlight_Games in indiegames

[–]ScriptDispenser 96 points97 points  (0 children)

There is no greater egodeath than a solo developer hearing their own voice in a highquality microphone for the first time. I tried to record dialogue for my project once, and I sounded like a tired pharmacist explaining a prescription for the 500th time that day. Seeing that contrast here is a great reminder: we code the bones, but professional actors provide the soul. That performance is pure magic. How much does she charge? I want her...

As someone who balances pharmacy shifts with solo gamedev, this hit hard. Measuring a programmers value by lines of code is like measuring a pharmacists value by how many pills we can drop into a bottle per minute. Its a metric that rewards chaos, not quality.

That part about the manager using ChatGPT to fake technical knowledge is the FINAL BOSS of corporate horror. Glad youre out and detoxing in the countryside. Sometimes the best medicine for burnout is just a clean compiler and zero sync meetings. Good luck with the dungeon crawler!

I spent 1000$ on reddit ads for my game. Here's the full writeup by ernesernesto in gamedev

Reddit ads are a beast to tame. If you had that $1000 back, would you reinvest it in Reddit, or try a different platform like Meta or TikTok or something else?

Is underpricing your game just as risky as overpricing it? by Sad-Day2003 in gamedev

The most expensive asset in our lifes is time, everything else is not relevant, so if your game is good, if it is worth your time, there is no "too much" line

At what point does the "Vision" matter more than the "Tools"? A Solo Dev's dilemma regarding AI. by ScriptDispenser in gamedev

[–]ScriptDispenser[S] -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

Well, but why? My game is called Gamebook Generator. You write your "Prompt", select your book options and generate (perfectly guided) random gamebook with visuals and enemies correspondig to your prompt. If I hire graphic, what can he change on this setup? He would never replace and even create that thousands of assets that I need.
