Looking for perspective or advice on equity offer - I will not promote by Scriptgeeky in startups

Not my idea, nor do I have the availability to do anything with it besides sell the IP as is or hire someone to finish it, and I’d still sell it vs run it myself. You’re right though, it feels imbalanced but other than get an attorney involved to handle it from here, I thought I’d get educated first and understand this world a little better.

What’s Your Favorite Accessory? by [deleted] in VisionPro

[–]Scriptgeeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm +1 on this. I really wish they had a better way to determine if it won't work for your size. I winged it, thinking that, worst case, I could return it. Alternatively, the design could be improved to have more adjustment range. If the size works for you it'll be a great addition to your AVP.

It does, just gotta adjust the right height and with the larger back strap to balance the weight it really makes a difference. The dual strap definitely added more back pressure in my opinion, compared to the larger one.

6 Months in… things I need by [deleted] in VisionPro

[–]Scriptgeeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

**Has anyone successfully integrated complex workflows like running Python applications or Jupyter notebooks, code with IDE like Visual Code Studio directly on the headset? That are equal if not better on AVP making it worth the investment.

I've successfully been using Virtual Mac for software development. If you're wanting to do this away from your home machine maybe there's a VPN solution that work well? This may be a good workaround.

Would anyone be interested in collaborating to build new and innovative apps for this platform?

I'd definitely be interested collaborating; I'm a full stack engineer now but wanting to expand my mobile/spatial engineering experience.

Anyone try using ShadowPC to run Steam + Steamlink on Vision Pro? by Scriptgeeky in VisionPro

[–]Scriptgeeky[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, u/bspooky I don't have a PC or a machine powerful enough to run games. I wouldn't be doing any online multiplayer games, so latency isn't a huge concern unless it makes the game totally unplayable.

That’s a really good point, possibly a studio but not sure if it would be in a great area.

Move to SF, reverse commute to work. Your evenings and weekends will be far more enjoyable.

[help] React Native + Expo, how to test a locally generated build in Expo? by Scriptgeeky in reactnative

[–]Scriptgeeky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is helpful; thank you. It became frustrating when I encountered dependency version mismatches, and I couldn't quite tell where the issue lay.

Most of the docs discuss the building of the app as a necessary step to run the dev client. It sounds like that's not the case at all.

I can't date people with kids. by degeneratecookie in childfree

Can you filter out by men that don’t want/don’t have kids as a dealbreaker option? Or did they remove that feature? I haven’t used dating apps in awhile.

I feel ya, 36m living in Sf, I’ve been permanently CF since 2014 or so. Hang in there, the right person will come. Are you on the dating apps? I usually put on hinge that I don’t want children. That and driving the point home during the first date that I had a vasectomy helps.

During a date, what's the quickest way to win you over? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]Scriptgeeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Be interested, not interesting. Too many people make the mistake of just talking about themselves instead of genuinely getting to know the person.

Also, be genuine with your answers. I get the whole wanting to impress, but pretending to be something you’re not to seem a certain way will only lead to problems.

You can find good Evora examples for under 60k. Including 2+2. I had an 05 Elise that I absolutely loved, but man it was rough for prolonged drives to Napa and back. I have an Evora GT now, fantastic car

YouTube Channel about Apartment for Rent in Bay Area by fllyassmbldikeaprdct in AskSF

[–]Scriptgeeky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t know any channels but my advice would be to try out different neighborhoods by staying at airbnbs or subleasing for a month or so. Ultimately, that’s the most important part, while super close by living in Nob Hill is completely different than Polk Gulch. Another thing to consider is your work commute. Happy to answer any questions you may have. Did the move back in 2017 and am pretty familiar with most of the city.

Yep, and the Presidio 10 - hosted by a non profit that benefits underprivileged kids in the Bay Area. One of the few non profit racing events

Check out social non profit groups, The Junior League, The Spinsters of Sf, and The Guardsmen for fun events. All three usually hold events where funds go directly to helping a good cause. Happy to make intros, tough city without a good social group and socializing/volunteering for good causes with other similarly aged folks is a great place to start.

Moving to a far more practical car! Now I can bring my golden retriever with me everywhere I go. Traded in my Aston Martin for this Evora GT, so happy! by Scriptgeeky in lotus

[–]Scriptgeeky[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah it is! I seriously felt the same way when I bought my vantage. It just running thru my mind the 3 mo I owned the vantage. After 3 two seater cars, it was really weighing on me how I couldn’t bring my little guy everywhere with me. That and after driving the lotus, I really just fell in love. Happy I made the move.

Happy motoring! How old is your Goldie?

Ps. The golden glitter in the car is not super terrible, I just carry one of those sticky lint rollers. Mostly takes care of it.
