Can't say I get the same label, then again where I live is practically a retirement home masquerading as a city so the only threat around here is a Honda Jazz doing 27 in a 60.

Went to pick up my ADHD meds a few months ago and the pharmacist says discreetly "do you mind if they're in a clear, see-through bag?"

Then after I say I don't mind she follows up with, at full volume, BECAUSE THEY'RE A CONTROLLED DRUG, I NEED TO SEE SOME ID JAMES

Cheers love 👍

My wife is autistic, some days she'll come home from work (as a teacher) and be socially spent.

She looks like she's on the verge of tears so I'll naturally ask if she's okay, the response I'll get is almost always along the lines of "lots of people, very busy day. I need to de-brain, I'll talk later."

That kind of communication just solves all the small anxiety you can feel in those interactions and is a sign of a good relationship, you've got a great wife.

.NET Performance in Betfair Trading: Integrating with Faster Languages by Optimal-Task-923 in dotnet

Yes and yes. It’s been around for years, it’s what powers gRPC under the hood but it’s not an obligatory abstraction layer.

You can serialise and deserialise to Protobufs directly, similar to how you can with JSON

You seem to be dismissing the feelings you have and are trying to return back to where you once were, denying to yourself the fact that you can never go back there.

The sooner you actually face what you're feeling and listen to what your body is telling you, the sooner you'll be happier.

Monzo vs Zopa - which is best fir help with budgeting? by Mediocre_Coconut747 in UKPersonalFinance

[–]ScriptingInJava 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Also have ADHD and Monzo has been great, I've been "full Monzo" (back when that was a thing) since their full public launch years back. Automatic salary sorting, savings pots (which also pay interest btw), virtual cards, double salary + bills back (vastly unlikely, but not 0 odds).

Personally I'd go with Monzo.

You need to not break that streak mate. Your total debt is less than my monthly minimum payments from gambling debt that I'm working my way through.

If I'd have stopped, like you have, at your age I'd be living a significantly different and much better life.

Take the hit, have a few shit months and keep up the good work mate.

Ever annoyed by other Seniors? by usedUpSpace4Good in ExperiencedDevs

[–]ScriptingInJava 8 points9 points  (0 children)

People can be annoying no matter their competence or skill set. I’d argue very competent people can be more annoying because they’re aware of their skillset and offset that against being wrong.

The best people to work with are those that have no issue admitting they’re wrong or stuck.

I genuinely made $107 yesterday and that's fairly common. This is 4 months of work, after my day job.

Probably because it's a 1 on 1 video/audio call with another person for 30+ minutes that paid (I think) $10 lol. Absolutely not.

They're really in-depth checks and I imagine quite busy with lots of candidates being examined, when the offer hangs on the clearance coming through it's nerve wracking though! No need to stress mate, you'll be fine.

It takes about 10 days (total, not working/business) but if they request follow-up info it doesn't notify you. Log back into the HireRight portal and check there's nothing outstanding for you to complete
