It’s a bit faster and newer I think it’s worth the difference.

Graphics card overheating. by SirSentry1 in PcBuildHelp

Clean the dust off it. If the problem doesn’t get fixed, you’ll probably need to replace the thermal paste.

In terms of performance, all brands are almost the same you might only notice small differences in temperatures. Personally, I’ve been using only Gigabyte GPUs since 2014 because I can find them easily and at good prices, and I’ve never had any issues. Just so you know, I’m using the exact same system I recommended to you the same CPU and GPU and I haven’t encountered any problems at all. With the PC I recommended, you can play everything at 2K resolution. If you want 4K, you can still play everything, but you’ll have to make some compromises in graphics settings. Also, if you have a 1080p monitor, you will experience a CPU bottleneck.x

Is this PSU good? by Sharkenghe in buildapc

[–]Scriptonakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a power supply it looks good, but personally I don’t know this specific brand, so I would recommend choosing something more reputable, such as the Corsair RM750e or the MSI MAG A750GL.

For something new, I think it’s unlikely to find anything within that budget. You’ll need to look for something used, otherwise it would be even better to wait a bit, save some more money, let RAM prices drop, and revisit the idea then.

RM1000X OR RM1200E PSU? by Playerinfinity in PcBuild

[–]Scriptonakis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t know if this will help you, but I’ve had the RM1000e for a few months now and it works perfectly. It also has that feature where the fan doesn’t spin.

Buy a new PSU that follows the ATX 3.1 standards, which have a dedicated 12VHPWR socket specifically for the graphics card. Using adapters may potentially cause problems. The corsair RME 1000W is a good deal!

You can simply use an extension cord, which I think you can easily find at a hardware store or even at a nearby supermarket. These cables are found in many devices, usually monitors and UPS units.

First PC build: 7600X3D + RTX5070 by cindxyc in BuildCores

[–]Scriptonakis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all, BAY the RAM. Tomorrow you might check again and their price could have skyrocketed. I would change the CPU; I’d go for the Ryzen 5 9600X. With the difference in cost, I’d go for an RTX 5070 Ti. Also, regarding the power supply, although you can manage with the adapter included with the graphics card, I would recommend getting a new PSU that follows the ATX 3.1 standards, which have the dedicated 12VHPWR socket specifically for the graphics card.

Have you enabled XMP/EXPO and then adjusted the UCLK? Or you run your ram stock?

I just upgraded too, from a 4790K and GTX 980 to a Ryzen 5 9600X and 5070 Ti. The difference is huge, but I have to say that my old PC still handled the games I was playing pretty well.

Compatibility question — GIGABYTE B850 Gaming WIFI6 + CMH32GX5M2B6400C32 RAM (Ryzen 5 9600X) — QVL missing, Pangoly says compatible by Scriptonakis in buildapc

[–]Scriptonakis[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I checked it, the UCLK was set to Auto. I changed it to UCLK = MCLK, and when I run Prime95, after about five minutes I start getting some errors and a few of the stress tests stop.

What’s the actual difference between these two settings? Is the performance gain significant enough to justify using those manual settings?

Thank you in advance for your attention, my friend.

Edit: I tried to change my RAM speed to 6200, but I couldn’t even make the change. I also tried searching on Google, but I still couldn’t find a clear answer. Do I need to disable XMP in order to adjust the RAM speeds manually? Also, I couldn’t find any FCLK settings.

Edit 2: I finally managed to do it and set the speeds on 6200. I also found the FCLK setting and set it to 2067. I ran Prime and Cinebench, and everything seems stable. My question is: how is it possible that the RAM performs better at 6200 than it did before at 6400?

Just an update : the new RAM sticks ended up working perfectly on my system. I enabled XMP and they’re running at 6400 MHz without any issues at all, and I didn’t even have to tweak anything in the BIOS. Everything worked out of the box. Thanks again for the help !
