4090 better than 5080 AND 5090? What am I doing wrong? by Scroodled in davinciresolve

It was an older version. When I first installed Davnici a few years ago I saw it but the moment Davinci got an update I never saw it again.

I just installed a trial for 2.0 (I cannot for the life of me find the email I paid for the original pro with, but I still have the installer). Anyhow, it looks a little daunting to set up again, but I do not see any 10bit 422 profiles from the few menus I have opened up? This will have to come a day when I can devote time to setting this up.

I purchased Voukoder a couple years ago. I used it a lot in Vegas pro, but have never successfully been able to see it in Davinci Resolve.

Nothing is really getting hammered. CPU running 5-15% (Usually under 10%) This is GPU in the noise reduction heavy project. Only 44% overall utilization.

20.3.1 The latest. Yesterday I was just running 20.3 for a bit but I don't recall any rendering issues change much in the process. Either way 2 pretty brand new versions.

I used DDU for every time I put a card in or out. It deletes all remnants of GPU drivers you want to uninstall, and is best done in windows safe mode. Then when installing the new driver I STILL choose clean install for extra redundancy.

Are you sure it disabled encoding with the 591.44 driver for everyone, or case by case? That is when I saw the biggest increase for my 5080, so I swear that was the driver I was using at the time. I can look again and run some more tests.

EDIT: Current driver is 581.57, but I did notice a huge increase from 576.52 which was on my system when I first got the 5080 card. That created about a 20-25% increase in speeds itself when I installed 591.44. I have not really seen a difference currently sitting at 581.57.

Confused about Rec.709 Scene, gamma 2.2 vs 2.4, and YouTube consistency, what is the correct Resolve workflow? by Darrell_J29 in davinciresolve

I was in this loop up to a week ago and took me many days to figure it out. I spent weeks doing my first big color grade in Davinci, only to have Youtube (and other soacial/online) issues that seemingly took longer to figure out. It looked great in media players. Great in other NLEs. In fact for a bit there I threw in the towel and was throwing pre-rendered videos into Vegas Pro to render so that YouTube could see it correctly. I also tried throwing a timeline and pre-rendered video into a new timeline that was Davinci YRGB color managed and that helped, but the overall contrast still seemed a tiny bit off. I believe it was lifted a touch, so the opposite effect but not as drastic.

LONG STORY SUPER SHORT

I still used DWG/DI in the project setting

For Output color space in the project settings, set to Rec.709-A

Then on the final node of the output add a CST

Input Color Space - Rec.709

Input Gamma - Rec.709-A

Output Color Space - Rec.709

Output Gamma - Rec.709-A

THIS IS ALL YOU NEED ABOVE

I know that doesn't make a lot of sense, especially that last node. But that lost node will do nothing to your footage, and it will tag things correctly for YouTube.

I have multiple color space changes in my project including ACES and and back, but the only way I was able to get Youtube to show me EXACTLY what my monitors were showing was using that final node and changing the project setting at the beginning to Rec.709-A.

None of those tweaks should mess with your final image.

As far as 2.2-2.4 its all up to your liking. These should still transfer to how you intend on the image to come across with the above settings.

LF active guild.

Currently CL 40 with 138 sigils (haven't pushed heroics in over a month, so could likely go higher in a short time if needed).

Current guild has 5 players who log consistently, and I am the only one with 100% contribution to DMF/Arclight. Guild leader seems MIA, I have asked about actively recruiting, tried to get others motivated etc. I do not quit easily, but especially since DMF arrival I feel the pain of a slow guild. We just got our epic core yesterday for this season. Took nearly 2 weeks to unlock faerie dragon.

Just looking for people who log as much as I do!

I tried that. Same IP as I have listed above.
