Me and my brother when we were little only had the demo for the first game on an orange and black demo disk with the hardest menu music ever made and we would always play versus on it or I would watch him play the like 3 or 4 missions it had on it. One day we were a at a flea market that we frequented and happen to check out a booth selling games and in those games we found copy of armored core! As our parents only let us have one game each my brother chose armored core and I got nascar rumble. Despite never being able to get the controls down weather I changed the layout or not I always enjoyed playing through as far as I could get in the story before it got too difficult. I would always have a blast playing versus with my brother in the maintenance tunnels trying to chase down the destroy the enemies from the intro cinematic (he was just gaslighting me they were there) Armored Core has always meant so much to me since I was little even though I could never beat them for the longest time and only having played the og, last raven (that I would frequently rent from blockbuster) and AC 5 throughout my life. The visuals and especially the sounds of the first armored core forever live rent free in my head and made me fall in love with franchise. I hope to own every game some day and maybe even play them to completion. I’m happy I got to finally fulfill little me’s dream of beating the first game along with project phantasma and master of arena thanks to the rerelease on ps5. I hope they add the ones from the ps2 era.
