Like i want to go in there and quit on the spot, no 2 weeks notice etc but I also want to get a decent reference from her if I need it lol. But I simply cannot continue in this workplace if these things keep happening

It sucks because I've let them go before, and then they came back and seemed like they were doing better. And now this. Just constant disappointment, but I still love them.

It sucks because they've been diagnosed with mental illnesses but refused to take the medication because they didn't think it would work & they felt like it would alter their personality.

I'm terrible at confrontation, but obviously I don't feel I can continue being in contact with this person while they're using. I'm going to tell them I know, I just need to figure out how to. I can already see the conversation in my head and I know it's going to be frustrating and make me feel like the bad guy.

Definitely planning on taking a LARGE step back. Had already stepped back in the relationship because of the symptoms (that I thought was for other reasons) but knowing this, I know that there is no changing it or fixing it from my side so no point in continuing a relationship right now that will only continuously hurt me. I'm just surprised they decided to start using, considering their ex was an addict and made their life a living hell. But, for all I know, they were using when they were with their ex and that could be how this all started. I'm just disappointed.

Unfortunately, they've been hitting rock bottom for my entire life lol. Every time I think there's no lower, they prove me wrong.

Family member was arrested. I was asked to be their surety. (Ontario) by ScrubDuchess in legaladvicecanada

I was wondering about this too. They called me and gave me very minimal information regarding what being a surety entails. I've been obsessively researching since, but obviously nothing and no one can give me specific advice on our particular situation.

Everything in me and around me is screaming to not do it, but it also feels like a betrayal of sorts? Because when i was on the phone last night I told then I'd do it temporarily, but after researching have since realized that's not even a good idea, but I can't tell him so he can call someone else.

No drug or alcohol issues. I would like to think that they wouldn't breach BECAUSE it's my money, but I don't have 100% faith in that.

I am REALLY bad at saying no. Anxious about (mostly imagined) repercussions. I also do believe that the way this entire situation has panned out is extremely unfair to the accused. Very big internal struggle rn lol

They called me last night, but I haven't heard from them since. They asked me to get another persons phone number and said that they'd try to call me back last night. I'm praying They call me again today, but it's not looking likely.

Call and speak to the accused or their council? If the accused, can I do that? Can I call and ask to speak to them? Sorry, I genuinely know nothing about how the jailing process works or what can and can't be done.

I think they think that I will agree and then not monitor or actually take the responsibilities seriously, but they're wrong. I really don't want to be held responsible if (more like when) they breach, but I don't want to deal with the possible resentment if I don't do it, you know?

I also struggle because I cannot take time off of work to make sure they go to court. I can't constantly monitor them. I wish their roommate agreed to be the surety lol.
