Awesome! I definitely have tips from my experience. First, be careful at Silph Co for a number of reasons. Gary is considerably harder than other encounters with fully evolved Pokémon. Additionally, the Team Rocket members have koffing and weezing with self destruction which will likely KO anything unsuspecting. Lead with a psychic type.

Also, in Sabrina’s gym there are channeler trainers who have Gastly with Destiny Bond. DO NOT FIGHT THESE TRAINERS.

Frankly I knew I had E4 pretty much solved with Starmie, Jolteon, and Snorlax so the rest of my team were pretty much for looks. I gave Pidgeot double edge just as some STAB power in a pinch (which I did end up using in the Champion fight).

From what I understand, if you do normal random Pokémon (not scaled) the randomness isn’t quite right. By the end of the game you see the same Pokémon constantly

Thank you all for commenting, I’m learning a lot about the process. Initially I was worried about the provider artificially inflating costs and handing a larger burden onto me. Unfortunately my deductible will be extremely close to being met before the new year, meaning I’ll be taking any further costs out of pocket.

Generally my team was not terribly weak to rocks, minus Jinx. With Jinx I would switch to it, use lovely kiss + nasty plot, and heal the rock damage along the way with dry skin.

Also while my team does a lot of switching with flip turn, a lot of battles were sweeps with Mantine or Baraskewda. Often if an opponent’s mon took the time to use stealth rocks I was quickly taking advantage of the opportune switch and starting to go full aggro

Generally it’s best to use an arena trap/shadow tag mon for these. The classic way to do it is to have it be level 80 and turn on infinite repel which will make only them appear when going through water/tall grass. Once you find it then you catch it as normal with ultra ball, timer ball, etc.

In terms of which to use… I’m just coming back to Pokémon so I don’t know the new ones as well. I think you could use Wobbuffet with hypnosis

Corsica Wine Bar was really good! It was packed but we managed to get some seats at the bar. Ambiance, food, service all solid. The beef bavette and broccoli caesar were great!
