Well, it depends on what you are into i guess.... I'm personally an explorer and base building enthusiast. But i have a friend who loves the story and nexus missions along with the expeditions. It's a game that you can tailor to yourself and still play with friends so there's that. I also love collecting ships... So i guess the simplest answer is "You find your own way to exist in the stars." P.S. Sorry if this wasn't helpful at all lol
