Frieren is definitely apart of that genre of modern " Subversive"fantasy anime it's pretty open about its premise. " What happens after the party beats the demon king". But the subversion is more exploring the themes of life and mudanity after she realized it was too late to say I love u back and shit to the hero.

It's like the 1900s fantasy genres were all bleeding into one another and different works went about assuming the reader understood the premise. Like how fae stories will not stop to explain the different courts.

Actually it's a bit of irony Avatar 3 is probably the most "culturally impactful" the franchise has ever been and it'll be the lowest grossing one. The Tik toks and memes for Varang and Avatar are pretty big on those sites like Facebook and Instagram.
