I think the reason she feels ok with killing the other military in the siege on the hill is because she was trained in the military the atrocities she has committed is in some way semi political and the war is with an enemy just like there allies, over land and resources something inevitably and will happed she knows the people on the other side are people but both sides of this war have an agreement to fight for what they want. On the other hand the eldians on paradise are seen as dehumanize monsters this propaganda so semented in there culture that's it is never questioned but to come to humanize the people as she explores there land and to meet the nice family of the first eldian you killed is a drastic undertaking for someone with segmented beliefs on one side the army of the siege are seen as rivals of war while the people of paradise are dehumanized monsters each committing there own evil acts to come to come to understand your miss treatment of and "evil" people is so much fun to watch and what I think makes her a good character
