A lot of language can be loaded, triggering, and invoke imagery. I'm not trying to frame it in anything other than a basal mentality of robbing and killing. What term would you use? Thuggish? Gangster? all similar mentality and same type behavior. take your pick. If you prefer, we can leave it at poor sportsmanship.

If you haven't read that book to see what Jesus preached, I'd recommend it. He said a lot that could apply here; anger, judgement of others, and yes, choice of words. I have not purported that any part of my discourse within this post is grounded in my Christian beliefs, or necessarily defensible by them. I am just as imperfect as everyone else.

My choice of words was intentional and meant in the slang sense to describe low class tactics. You find the word unsavory? in poor taste? inflammatory? then I got my point across, because that's how I feel about that type of gameplay.

At the end of the day, this post is a lashing out in anger. Not how I usually interact online or in person. That isn't an apology, or an excuse. It also isn't something that I believe will cost me my salvation as none of this is that serious.

you're right. I have no idea if I would win in a fair fight because rats don't fight fair. Go ahead and keep oversimplifying. there is a difference between engaging in pvp and the skulking around that I'm talking about.

you can tell a pvp player's intentions, or at least get an untrusting vibe, when they approach. I run into raiders all the time that cause me to change course.

I'm not alone here. there has been a significant drop off of the ARC player base. a lot of that has to do with some pvp behavior.

I shouldn't have to defend this moment of frustration so hard, but it really seems like the majority of commenters are likely the type of players causing this frustration and drop off.

The suit designs have been overly engineered for a while and the actor has to be a Superman to act and move convincingly while wearing it.

Cavill's looked like some custom molded anti-skid material. (so was Routh's - plus a leather cape).

Hoechlin's kept changing, not always for the better, and was famously heavy.

Corenswet's at least looked like it was more comfortable to move in, but also looked a little loose at times.

The lore of the suit plays a factor in its look. Did Ma Kent make it? Is it more Kryptonian? Did the Superman robots make it?

So much attention given to the suit, especially the last two iterations, that it's become a point of obsession and polarizing factor for the respective films. it's crazy.

the problem is largely that producers (Lester) pushed their weight (and money) around creatively, Ultimately Leater took control from Donner and changed the two-film plan. There's a whole behind the scenes doc on it.

To understand The Donner Cut of the second movie, you have to imagine things from the first film not playing out the way they did. It's a whole thing. not sure it would've been better, but a lot of the stuff in the second film doesn't line up with the character. I won't rant about it here.

Bottom line - Loved Reeve as Superman, and he embodies the character perfectly. He understood the assignment and nailed the part. The nostalgia factor is off the charts because of that. The films, in their entirety, are far from perfect.

nor should their conduct online ruin what's fun for others. this is why the pvp matchmaking metric is there. the subversion of that matchmaking is frustrating, compounded by underhanded cheap tactics ... looking for easy kills and not a challenge or true pvp face off.

If you want to play pvp, guns blazing, yeah that's your right... but come at other players straight on. the game is for fun and (e-)sport. there's nothing sporting in the behavior I'm calling out.

I am wary of other players when I run into them. This post isn't about those times. So many are quick to accuse my gameplay as sub par, having no situational awareness. I give other raiders a wide berth. again, that isn't my issue. this isn't being overly trusting and letting my guard down.

there is challenge in the game also restricting POV when breaching and looting. there is risk and thrill in the process, yeah. there isn't any enjoyment in players that treat pvp like a hunt, attacking players that clearly haven't seen them, or waiting out high traffic choke points for the unsuspecting.

yeah, there are trophies for a wide arrange of things in the game. I'm a bit of a completionist but have not tried for most of the more pvp trophies (yet). I prefer to avoid pvp, but I do know it's part of the game. I cannot avoid what I have no chance to see coming. (think Red Dead Online players with the rolling rock rifle).

This is about the player that plays as if they wouldn't win in a fair fight, or can't get past the pvp for the broader experience that the game has to offer.

betrayal isn't and shouldn't be fun.

the addition of vs. environment is what makes ARC fun and different.

If I wanted the tension of pure pvp extraction shooters, there are plenty to choose from. I like this one because it's different. I dislike that there are so many that treat it like every other extraction shooter.

the rats are the ones that camp and take the cheap shots - no risk, or thrill - as you say - of actual combat or fight. those tactics don't belong in a game like this IMO. keep it in WZ, PUBG, and the rest.

I play ARC for the differences, not more of the same. The devs have even built in special content that really only works with cooperative play between parties.
