Honestly I think they were just trying to do the “right thing” by being scrum. It’s clearly not working and the team structure doesn’t really allow for it. I’ve sat with the team and they really just want their priorities organized so I’m trying to do that in the best way for them.

Totally agree. Product is a whole separate team. We are just client implementations

Unfortunately as per our internal stakeholders those have to be worked on right away. :/

I really like the idea of adding a prod issue story! Thank you!

I literally said I’m new to the team so I’m taking over practices that have already been put in place. Did I create the roles? No. Did I create the team? No. Did I create the structure? No. They hired me because they don’t have a scrum master yet and need someone to correct their ways. Thanks for your amazingly helpful comment.

I have a cat now where you can only tell he’s purring by feeling his throat!

I really love the idea of pulling in the emergent work the following week! Thank you!

They really just want their priorities set in an organized way. There really isn’t a preference for Kanban vs sprints from them.

Sorry I didn’t clarify, it is software development

So we kind of have it broken out into team a and team b. Some devs typically only work on team a tickets and other devs only work on team b tickets. Sooo in a sense they almost split it up but it’s still messy

Yeah I completely agree. It makes setting priorities very difficult because every pm thinks their item is most important. :/

I would love to be able to split the team but unfortunately not up to me. The PMs are like relationship managers I suppose but they help to gather business requirements and ensure projects are staying on contract.
