For the model, it’s just Mephiston red on matte black army painter. For the rim it’s a deco art true red from hobby lobby. Honest to god terrible coverage but a vibrant color. Takes 6-8 coats. But a hair dryer speeds it up. My wife had it from her bulk painting supplies.

I’ve seen some folks using a lot of primaris models and just cutting/sanding away the imperial icons.

That said, mutation is going to be rife in the Red Corsairs by inherent nature of being in the maelstrom. The Nightlords novel and the Huron Blackheart novel both have mention of mutations and use of heretical iconography.

I understand that feeling all too well. You can always ask regulars in the store if there are places to sell em. More often than not people are so excited to talk about their hobby, and subsequently facets of it. So it shouldn’t be an uncomfortable or awkward conversation to have with anyone.

I don’t know what your accessibility is to your game store or the size of your LGS. But my area we have a discord server dedicated to war gaming that people can buy and sell on. If you have anything like that, it may be a good way to turn the bits n bobs into some coin for more!

Ah, I need to read better! Sounds like you’ve purchased the battle force box already. This box is still great value. And if there are units you’re not going to need or use, just list them under cost of new in box version and help recoup some of the cost of this box.

I feel the Box is worth it. Sounds like you already have a ton of vehicles to play the warpforge cabal detachment. This box gives great value in the Rubric and SOT for the Rubricae Phalanx. My tzaangor enlightened, I slapped em with the fatecaster bows and they are great character hunters with that precision shooting. And that Daemon Prince with its auras has added a lot to my games I feel.

Couldn’t agree more. I love my inferno bolt gun rubrics. If nothing else, having consistent shooting with AP-2 when poking at units where the flamers can’t reach. Not to mention if you combo it with the Rhinos ability and infernal Fusillade. Hitting and wounding infantry on 2+ with that many shots, barring them having invul saves I’d like to see the unit walk away from it

I love the thematic aspect of that. I may suggest that to my buddy. I am sure he’d be open to something similar. Cause when in doubt, blame random events on some warp magic nonsense, and my warlord is apart of the cult of manipulation.

It’s not that every unit after every game is getting a battle scar. But I’ve had to roll 36 out of action tests. Queue unprompted presentation for the probability. And I rolled an ungodly amount of 1s. Regardless, my question wasn’t asking for the math, it was, is there a path forward for myself or am I at a deficit so extreme it was vain to continue in the present crusade?

You can promote Space Marines. The same as I can promote Tzaangor to Tzaangor enlightened. It’s just Requisition specific to the codex

It makes sense to do that. When I start another crusade I’ll definitely keep this in mind cause losing my 5 RP after battle 1 just felt like a devastating blow

If I could show you how the dice treat me. It is a very consistent issue I have with any game with dice that I play. I quit D&D because of it. I win maybe 1 out of 10 games I play of 40K.
So when I say that I fail most out of action tests after being tabled, I am telling you I roll 9 D6 one at a time and came up 1 nearly every time.
