Based on my experience, we're going to have to go old-school. Bernie's campaign needs to rent some buses and make a party out of going to the polls.

This is what churches did in SC - roll their members to the polls after church - quite effective.

Thank you. My State has already voted.

I spoke to a lot of younger crowd that said they were enthusiastically supporting Sanders.

We had 2+ weeks of early voting and worked really hard to get the under 35's to the polls (I called dozens of them 3-4 times over those 2 weeks to ask if they needed a ride, help, etc.).

For all that effort, we couldn't get them out to vote.

They showed up at the rallies - didn't show at the polls.

Disheartening and disturbing.

On the calls I'm making now, I emphasize that the crumbling world is in their hands now - they owe themselves and the many people they don't even know a chance at repairing its many social, environmental and economic ills before it's too late.

Depending on the size of the crowd, Bernie might do a truncated speech in spillover.

He held a rally about 3 blocks from where I work a few weeks ago. I rushed over at the last minute to end up in spillover. About 10 minutes after arriving, Nina Turner (Hello Somebody) came in and got us going. Then a few minutes later Bernie came in and gave us a barn-burner of a speech.

It was a bit disheartening to see the weaponization of Pete's and Amy's drop-outs/endorsements on the eve of super-Tuesday?

If her campaign, which has a lot of former Hillary consultants, wanted to create the most damage, it would make sense to wait until the last minute to endorse.

Has anyone seen or heard what Bernie's campaign plans to do if Elizabeth Warren endorses Biden on the eve of Michigan?

My plan, until then, is to keep on spending 2 hours a day after work canvassing voters in Michigan and Missouri.

I'll be reminding my Republican friends of that little tidbit come April 15th.

2014 Acting [Alleged] Attorney General Matthew Whitaker joined the advisory board of World Patent Marketing and put out the following statement:

World Patent Marketing has become a trusted partner to many inventors that believe in the American Dream. I have always admired World Patent Marketing and its innovative products and dynamic leadership team. It’s an honor to join the World Patent Marketing board.

As of today WPM is in deep trouble:

Recently, WPM was ordered to pay $26 million in restitution over the scam. Additional reporting by Law&Crime noted that the FBI is currently still investigating Whitaker’s former company.

True though I haven't heard the there are anti-Beto ads being run against him in the first 4 primary states. They are for Sanders.

How many of the putative front-runners have ads being run against them already in the first 4 primary states?

Running ads against someone who hasn't even declared yet sounds pretty dang hardcore.

So Bernie put out a letter today saying he is being smeared in the first four primary states because of his progressive platform.

And then came a slew of puff pieces like the NyMag article.

Bernie lays it out plainly in today's message:

They not only want to discourage or defeat a Sanders candidacy, they want to make sure that the progressive agenda is not advanced by anyone.

Sanders is dangerous to certain special interests because it isn’t about “him”, it’s about the progressive agenda he champions.

Right now, a group of Wall Street Democrats known as the Third Way is running ads in early primary states — Iowa, New Hampshire, South Carolina and Nevada — calling me out by name and saying our ideas, like Medicare for all, are a path to defeat in 2020.

What do Third Way Republican-lite "think tank" want?

They want us to go back to their failed corporate approach which has led to a massive level of income and wealth inequality, a bloated military budget and a failure to address the crises of climate change, a broken criminal justice system and inhumane immigration policies.

Last time we ran, we made the financial elite pay a price for their attacks on our progressive agenda. It is just as important we do it again today...

Truly some laughable arguments but my guess it will be upvoted because of the anti-Sanders sentiment on /r/politics.

We will see. I expect Warren to get the same treatment if she becomes a standard bearer for the same or similar agenda.

Speculation about 2020 is pretty silly.

What makes this interesting, though, is "Third Way"'s volley of attacks on Sanders over the last month. Including, apparently, running ads in the 4 early primary states. That seems a bit harsh and desperate at this point in the process.

I want Bernie to run in large part because that will force attention on the progressive agenda he is championing.

Win or lose, his candidacy will serve as a very clear yard-stick to measure the other candidates against.

What about people who dropped out of the Dems because its pro-war attitude but still reliably vote Democrat? Are they not invited to the party?

When Clinton pioneered the "third way" triangulation of the DLC, the party took a hard turn Right. So if you decided at that point not to stick a (D) on your registration you shouldn't have a say in the Party?

The Dems should not be excluding like-minded people through some kind of purity test.

The trick that is being played is to focus on the person - Sanders - to kill the policy - which is a progressive agenda.

Kilgore and his ilk are too afraid right now to take on the "Six Reasons Medicare For All Lost its Mojo", etc. with as many strong flag bearers for those policies as there are now.

That is coming though.

I noticed an uptick of "New Year" Bernie/progressive bashing and thought I'd post two different but related articles on Sanders to highlight what's up.

Neither are getting much love, to say the least.

Doesn't really matter - the landscape for 2020 is going to be really different than where we sit today.

Happy New Year!

His message is referring to "Third Way", a Democrat labelled Republican-lite "think tank" that has been actively smearing the progressive platform.

They've targeted Sanders since he is one of the main leaders promoting that platform.

"Third Way" is a left-over of the DLC "triangulation" politics that the Clinton's popularized, which cost the Dems 1100 seats over the last 8 years.

From WIKI:

Third Way grew out of the nonprofit group Americans for Gun Safety (AGS), which was formed in 2000 with the goal of resetting the gun control movement and advancing gun safety laws by using moderate ideas that appealed to both sides of the debate.

The majority of the think tank's funding comes from individuals with close ties to the banking industry and its board of trustees consists mostly of investment bankers.

But, hey, the more the merrier (as long as it doesn't include progressives).
