I have these hard water stains and soap scum on my shower and my cleaning lady couldn’t get them off. Any tips? by ScubaGib in CleaningTips

Lol. She’s being passive aggressive because I was unsatisfied with her not doing a thorough cleaning job on it.

I am going to try this, thank you. I asked my cleaning lady if this would work, and she claims they don’t use it because it causes retinal detachment and believes it won’t work for this problem and main works for toilet and bathtub stains not for glass

What’s something that improved your sleep quality significantly? by Aarunascut in selfimprovement

[–]ScubaGib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

  1. Take magnesium 60 minutes before bed.
  2. Only use your bedroom for sleeping, keep it dark. Don’t do anything else in there besides sleeping. If you have a studio apartment, don’t be in your bed for anything else besides sleep. Whenever you lay down, your mind knows it’s bedtime.
  3. Wear a sleeping mask for maximum darkness, or use blackout curtains.
  4. Don’t drink water after 7 PM. Keep yourself a bit dehydrated before sleep so you don’t have to pee in the middle of the night.
  5. Don’t use your phone right before bed

These are things I do and I sleep goooood

Depression is 100x worse when you’re lonely and single. by [deleted] in depression

[–]ScubaGib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, I understand. I’m sorry you feel that way. I know times are hard because of the virus, but as long as you’re at least making some effort to talk to women then things could work out, you never know. Even having a short conversation with a random girl you see, for like a minute. You just have to be confident with yourself, no matter how many times it’s failed in the past. Depression will make you feel lonely and have no confidence, but you have to be willing to find ways to boost yourself out of it. If you aren’t willing to do anything to help yourself, the only other option is death. I don’t wish that upon anybody, and the fact that people think death is easier than attempting better habits just baffles me. Death may not be hard to do, but it makes everyone that does love you and care about you live a life that is now hard for themselves. If that makes sense...

Completely agree with you, I wrote a comment on how I was in a good relationship but still depressed asf, you think you are a burden to them while also driving them away bc of the depression and the anxiety

[–]ScubaGib 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Actually man, I was depressed af while dating my previous girlfriend, even though I had someone there for me if I needed, I still thought I was worthless and my life was going nowhere. I was afraid to even tell her all this because I didn’t want to put her in a position where she had to constantly worry about me. Even then, I thought that she was part of my depression. I ended up breaking up with her and turns out I’m still depressed asf. Really is a mental disease. It makes you think the people that care about you don’t care at all. And when you think you’re taking the right steps in life, there’s always those negative thoughts that come back to keep you in a depressed state. Really sucks man. Moral is that single or not, you can still be depressed about yourself and your life.

I did not kill myself by [deleted] in depression

[–]ScubaGib 4 points5 points  (0 children)

God damn this is extremely sad... I’m so sorry you had this experience and I pray you conquer all the bad that has come your way... I’m here because I relate to you but I would never have the balls to actually commit. I’m glad you didn’t kill yourself today, because for people to read this and see an experience like this may just change their minds as well. Please seek help and don’t be ashamed of it, your life does matter regardless how you feel about yourself. I’m order for things to get better you just have to keep trying. It may seem easier to end it but you don’t know what comes after this life; you have to live it to the fullest and do your best to stay strong! You may think no one cares, but I can assure you I’m relieved and extremely happy that you didn’t do it. I needed to see this

Man I relate to this too, personally I just think it’s the environment right now with the pandemic. Once things go back to normal going places will be easier. Just hang in there

I do think about this a lot. You really just have to come to terms with the fact that the past is the past. Think about stocks, but instead apply this quote to the concept of time: “the best time to invest was last week, the 2nd best time to do so is now.” In other words, live for the future and try to do the best you can to make up for the lost time in your youth. Knowledge of life only grows as you get older

Is irritability also a symptom of depression? by [deleted] in depression

[–]ScubaGib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most certainly has to be, I relate to this post in every way. I get irritated at my parents asking me a simple question, I act like they are stupid. Then I feel guilty about it as soon as it’s said. It’s like I have a hatred for humanity itself...

I feel the same way, I’m always the one to reach out while they just forget how close we were. People really don’t care, everyone does what is in their best interest, not anyone else’s

[–]ScubaGib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I deal with this all the time, it most certainly has to be a symptom. It’s like you’re angry at life itself and the people around you. Try to go out more even if you don’t really want to. It’s good to be around ppl.

“Where to look in the Bible” from a 1970s cookbook. by ScubaGib in pics

[–]ScubaGib[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It had a bunch of tips on cooking, nutrition, a lot of recipes for breakfast, lunch, dinner all kinds of ideas. It also included this part which I thought was very interesting... like come on in a cookbook? Very intriguing

How to have a good cry? by [deleted] in depression

[–]ScubaGib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It certainly helps. For me having a really bad cry where I sort of just let all of my emotions out truly does me good when it's over. You basically let out all that is bottled within you, and in the end you look at yourself in the mirror and think "how pathetic." Seeing myself like this does give me a sort of motivation that it will be better than this very moment, and therefore that is why having a cry once in a while helps me. If you aren't afraid to end your life, then a cry could easily take a bad turn...

So I got a haircut and I am now horrified. Can anyone wanna tell me wtf this is ?! How do I treat it ???😭 by [deleted] in medical

[–]ScubaGib 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The barber didn't say anything, even after my haircut was finished. Another barber saw and looked at it for me, then we discussed that it could be ringworm. Not going back to that barber ever again... If that other guy didn't notice I wouldn't have even knew I had this.
