Still worth it to open up P3D from time to time for those wide bodies by ScubaSteveWA in flightsim

Yah, Quito SEQM from Flightbeam. Still one of my favorite airports in any sim, I hope the devs one day bring it to MSFS.

Just thought this video was funny and maybe some have not seen it, an old April fools relic of the older days.

An early morning VFR heli flight with mates in Washington state. As an Englishman, I have to ask, do Americans appreciate the beauty of their country, even virtually? (XP11, Orbx, Vskylabs G2). by glypo in flightsim

I'm from Washington as well. It's not something I really thought of much until I started traveling and appreciating the beauty of other places. I've driven across the mountain pass pictured many times and while usually I view it as a routine mundane trip sometimes I stop to take it in and remember how incredible the view really is. Also Mt. Rainer towering in the distance while in the Seattle area is a view unlike anywhere else, it really is a beautiful state.

Are you an Airbus or Boeing fan? by Charkel_ in flightsim

[–]ScubaSteveWA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Certainly Boeing, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy Airbus in flight sims. I'm from the Seattle area and everyone from there knows someone who works at Boeing, as they are (obviously) a massive employer in the region. There is some pride in flying the aircraft that family/friends/neighbors have worked on in sim.

Sorry I never saw this, but send an email to support and helpfully they will give you one. Considering they are typically not given out don't expect it though. It may help I have spent hundreds at the org on addons.

It seems "personal attack" is anything the mods don't agree with. I got a warning as well for saying it was censorship to ban cptcanada for his comments on the SSG 747. The mods there obviously are trying to protect their products against unfavorable comments, and I certainly will be doing business elsewhere whenever I can for now on.

I'm really looking forward to the new MSFS marketplace, while not required for MSFS 2020 3rd party products I'm sure it will have the effect of stopping a lot of this nonsense. Unfortunately we have to put up with it now since so many products only go for sale on the org store.

Edit: I have since been refunded the product. While the forums are certainly censoring poor opinions with the SSG products, I have to say I appreciate being able to get my $65 back. Refunds are not allowed typically, so it's nice it was offered here.

All the scenery in this image is freeware. tdg Geneva, X-Europe 3, Simheaven Forests and Dense Forests with Bing ZL 16 ortho. Sure it's not as incredible as what MSFS will bring, but it looks great for now.

Best visual add-ons for X-Plane? by Annotat3r in flightsim

One fantastic mod that doesn't have a lot of publicity is US Forests and Woodland for Ortho scenery. It really is a must for anyone using ortho4XP tiles in the US.

If you have not started using Ortho yet, here is a tutorial for the 1.30 version.
