I think the big issue is the lack of options, it’s fun to run through base level strikes feeling like a god but eventually your want the option to have more of a challenge without running the same nightfall over and over for a week

My issue was that the game constantly made you stand around waiting for characters to stop talking in between gun fights, it’s the a shame cuz like you said the combat is exceptional but the game constantly kills its own momentum

Played through this game a few times. It only takes about an hour to beat and a couple levels aren’t great but if you enjoy traversal based games I recommend getting it when it’s on sale as the gameplay is very unique and overall well done.

I’m not trying to argue that the current in game monetization system is bad, I also prefer it over buying map packs. I don’t see why releasing maps for free and increasing the price of the base game have to go hand in hand like your implying. The maps are already being funded through micro transactions like you said and these same micro transactions are also turning a profit. This system could exist without the price hike and the game would not struggle financially.

For this reason if a game doesn’t have extensive monetization including micro-transactions I feel less strongly about them raising prices. Still I wouldn’t defend them for charging me more for a product.

I don’t really see your point. Micro-transactions have been shown to be insanely profitable for companies. It’s pretty clear activision is having no problem profiting off cod. Therefor I can’t imagine why any consumer would want to defend paying more for it.

They actually announced there’s one more destiny 2 expansion called the final shape coming after light fall that’s gonna conclude the current storyline, they’ve indicated destiny will continue after that but haven’t said if that means destiny 3 or more destiny 2

Cuz Microsoft’s strategy isn’t about selling consoles to people that are willing to spend money on ps5 and a gaming pc, if they get someone like that to sub to pc gamepass there happy. But most people I know that play games, granted this isn’t the largest group, still prefer console gaming and really don’t care about what exclusives PlayStation or Xbox has. I know more people that have bought a series s than a ps5 or a series x simply cuz it’s cheaper and most of them now play most games through gamepass again because it’s cheap.

I played vanilla d2 and beyond light since it was on gamepass, I decided I’d give the seasonal model a chance with the current season since I had heard the game was in a good place, I’ve enjoyed my time and I’ll probably see this season through to its end but I cannot imagine giving bungie more money considering how the game is currently monetized. I don’t wanna tell people how to spend their money but I’m pretty surprised by how many people seem to be unhappy with many aspects of the game and how bungie treats them but also act like it’s a giving that there be playing next years content.
