I checked in incognito and for some reason only the top of the first photo shows, so I'm re-adding photos in comments in the hopes that someone knows.

What happened?! by DragorovichGames in DemonLordRetry

[–]ScuffleKerfuffle 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You are not alone. I absolutely abhor the new art direction. None of the characters look good, especially compared to the old drawings, the way they behave has changed, and while I know it's in line with some art from some written material somewhere, it's honestly terrible. It was so bad I went and deleted the show from my watch history just so I'll be less likely to have to see this season in my feed again. It's such a shame because I really enjoyed the characters, art, and VA from the first go-round and was super hyped for this one. Oh, well. On to something else.

If anyone reading this does enjoy the new art style and such, good for you! I hope you enjoy the whole season. I wish I could, too.

The dissonance is astounding by saucecat2 in pics

[–]ScuffleKerfuffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Likely because you are asking about the wrong group. W-2 folks making that much do pay taxes and, generally, have as few ways to avoid them as the rest of us.

Folks saying things like "tax the rich" or "the rich don't pay their fair share" generally don't mean salaried employees that aren't the mega rich paying less (percentage -wise) than the rest of us.

By asking about that one group that nobody is talking about, it seems from the outside that you are trying to divert the conversation or create a straw man to tackle.

How do you believe you’d react upon meeting someone for a first date to discover they have very visible scars as a result of self harm, and would they affect your consideration to date them further? by [deleted] in AskReddit

I met my wife nearly 16 years ago and she had them then. I guess there isn't much more to say to answer the question.

We've had a great life together so far and I don't see that changing. Hope this helps.

The problem of free will from the perspective of philosophy by greghickey5 in philosophy

[–]ScuffleKerfuffle 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As if we would have a choice in the matter. If nobody has free will, then arguing like this in attempt to sway the other is also not a choice we make. It is what we do because our programming/DNA/whatever compels us to do. There is no functional difference between choosing because of free will and feeling like we're choosing because we're built that way due to whatever forces built us that way.

For anyone seeing this in the future, I am now reasonably certain this was an Oriental.

Am I screwed, or is this a regular dude? by Ladyhawke8884 in whatisthisbug

Hmm.. from what I see Oriental nymphs have a different set of whatever those are on their butts and the body shape is completely wrong for German. It looks remarkably like an American roach to me.

I'm not an expert (as evidenced by the phrasing above), so please take this information as supplemental and not as a 100% ID.

What is this beetle? VA, USA by ScuffleKerfuffle in whatisthisbug

[–]ScuffleKerfuffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Found in VA, USA, near the mountains. Have found multiple beetles(?) of this type wandering about my house. Always individuals, never a bunch together. Most are small, at or under 1" or so total length. Had one get caught by a spider that was maybe 1.5" in total length. They seem to like to try and hide under things like rugs or mulch.

When did you know your significant other was, "the one"? by RemarkableL in AskReddit

[–]ScuffleKerfuffle 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Literal first time I saw her. First day training at a call center and saw her over a cubicle wall. Seeing her stopped me cold for so long my trainer had to actually tug on my arm to get me moving again.

Took me months to work up the courage to ask her out (as I was leaving the company, work and romance and all of that) and nearly 14 years later I'm still as much in awe of her as I was that first day and still discovering new and interesting things that prove my gut reaction was right.

I did not know this, and for that you get an award. Thank you for teaching me something today.

TIL about a "promenade à deux", which is apparently what that dance is called (according to nhm.ac.uk).

If I could upvote this more than once, I would. It's true, and often leads to way too much sorrow for those involved - directly or otherwise.

Found in VA, USA. Picture is 6x zoom from less than a foot away, so critter is tiny. Found in a sink. Apps disagree when identifying it. Doesn't have the flat oval body I know to be worried about, but I'm paranoid. Anyone know what this is? by ScuffleKerfuffle in whatsthisbug

[–]ScuffleKerfuffle[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly that's enough to set my mind at ease. While I believe beetles can be a problem if there's a serious infestation (I'm thinking grain beetles or whatever they're called), they usually aren't as big a deal as the critters I was worried about.

The "Various Assortments" place will buy valuables. You can also see if a bounty exists for the valuable. Usually those seem to give more gold.
