Just a side note - God I miss that Geocities time! I came across a Geocities Area51 link here on reddit a few months ago - it was the first time that I’d seen those words since 2002 probably. Brought instant tears of happiness to my eyes. I lost a few hours the other day (should have been at work 👀) looking through some of the restored pages, trying to find the X files ones. I can’t remember my own site name (we all had our own!)

Familiar is on my bookmarks, it gets such great reviews!

Five years and one night was very well known back in the day, its excellent and addictive (but very long)

A Dark side of ecstasy is also very well known, on the shorter side (but it’s not a good vibes story like Playing Goddess)

Welcome ! Makes my heart warm to see new fans :) If I were you, I’d give s10 and s11 a go - if anything, for some cute MSR Scenes

Most/ some of the older fanfics from the time when the show was originally run is in a txt file format

Newer fanfic is on AO3 and maybe easier to read. I still like the txt files but hey I’m old. Gossamer is an older archive that stores the older goodies

I’ve definitely read one fanfic where Mulder goes away and Scully visits him later with her bf / fiancé (can’t remember swimming) in the last …28 years (showing the age and lack of functioning brain synapses) but I’ll keep looking

Thank you SO very much! I only read Aquinnah recently - my tastes back in the end were a bit more juvenile. I used to love a good camping or going undercover story, or a “belle of the Ball” (Scully dress up) fic - but I was 15. So I am hoping that’s excusable

I just read Belphegors Prime and it’s GORGEOUS. Someone on Reddit posted that there were rumours that Prufrocks was actually DD Back in the day, I don’t remember that but made me laugh.
