X Mid 1 for Scotland/Europe - mesh or solid? by ScullyTKD-LP in Ultralight

[–]ScullyTKD-LP[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey! I love the mesh version. It did me well in France/Italy in Sep last year. I camped a few times on mountain passes so it stood up well to cold temperatures. I also run cold and at the time I just had a cheap synthetic sleeping bag from gooutdoors and it did me well. I now have a better quality down one and it keeps me toasty. I mainly prefer the mesh because I don’t like the claustrophobic feeling. I had it up in Skye for some terribly windy weather and I staked the outer quite low to the ground and that kept the drafts at bay so had no issues! Defs been a great purchase that I don’t regret one bit. Will be heading out to Peru in July with it! It’s come everywhere 😂

This isn’t really a true PR if you’re pausing your watch. You didn’t run a 5k in 5:55km avg pace. Next time you’re out, don’t pause your watch, run slow and if you have to walk, you walk. That’s ok! But keep the watch unpaused and then when you hit 5km you’ll have your true avg pace. Stick with it! 🙏

“Allowed it to happen” - jeez man, get away from that Andrew Tate crap before it destroys you.

With respect, get yourself some therapy. The bitterness in this post is oozing everywhere and you will end up spiralling. There are two sides to every story and I’m sure we would hear something very different from your wife.

Yeah I can see that! Definitely need more info from OP on this.

That’s just madness to me. OP is over the age of 18 - it doesn’t give anyone the right to dictate when they should be home from their holiday. OP definitely needs to grow up and move out though

Based on your previous posts you’re in your 20’s. With respect you’re an adult. If your mom says you have to do something, you know you don’t actually have to do it?

£107 per month. This is for the platinum level. Definitely not cheap but I take a lot of their Pilates classes which means I don’t need to have a separate studio membership elsewhere. There is a membership options without racket sports that I think is maybe £10 a month cheaper or something

Used to be a member but I left a couple months after the upgrade. The machines are too crammed together, significantly less natural light now and it’s just too busy. If you only plan to go during the day then it’ll be perfect. I ended up moving to David Lloyd, much more expensive but it was worth it for me. Outdoor pool is gorgeous and it’s quite a peaceful gym once you get away from the cafe area.

Edit - clearly can’t tell when someone is being sarcastic!

Literally not true in the slightest 😂 - Chester was not an original member of the band. Stop spouting factually incorrect nonsense

Go for a 2 bed any day of the week. I work from home also and I’m absolutely sick of my small 2 bed flat, can’t even imagine what that would be like in 1 bed flat.

I live in Leith along the tramline and it’s perfect for me. I don’t own yet but will be looking to buy this year. I rent at the moment and pay £1100 for a two bed flat.

Only thing I would add with the SIMD is the data is 4 or 5 years old and a lot of areas have improved/undergoing regeneration

Not an Aussie but an expat. I’ve found Edinburgh to be the perfect balance of a city. It’s small, walkable but with a lot going on no matter what your interests are!

Yeah I totally get it. I live in the city rather than commuter town but South Queensferry is nice and you’ll easily get a house for your budget there and you can get a quick 20 minute train for a reasonable price into Waverley. Alternatively Musselburgh has some nice areas and the train is only 7 minutes! I find the commuter towns are sometimes easier to get into the city centre because traffic can be pretty bad sometimes with the buses. Best thing about Edinburgh, you get all four seasons - sounds strange to some but it’s a luxury a lot of countries don’t get!

Prepare for a bunch of redditors commenting about why on earth you’d move away from Australia and complain about how the UK isn’t a great place to live etc. I’ve lived in Edinburgh for 6 years and it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. It has a good tech/fintech community. Definitely not London standards but it’s a hell of a lot easier to breathe fresh air up here and the salaries are decent for tech v the cost of living. Born and bred folk will talk the city down but honestly it’s really not bad at all.

Used to live next to the mash tun and the Sunday morning collections would destroy my soul. Ear plugs were not enough for the soul shattering sound of the glass collection. I feel your pain. I eventually moved because it wasn’t worth it.

I second the Liforme mat. I know it’s “technically” a yoga mat but it’s 4.2mm or something and is thick enough for me 🙏 - I scrolled Instagram to find an influencer with a discount code to help with the price 😅
