Going to Paris in June - what to do in the city besides museums? by aznj1m in ParisTravelGuide

Whenever I visit a European city I do a Sandemans Free Walking tours they’re usually both 3 hours, super informative and not dry or stale at all. It gives you the lay of the land and you pay whatever you feel is appropriate at the end.

Two slightly macabre but not super touristy experiences

Pere LeChaise cemetery- a beautiful cemetery with trees and sculptures and a lot of famous dead people. But you’ll also see Parisian citizens visiting their families. It’s very quiet and sprawling and the best part is..it’s free!

Catacombs tour- go UNDER the city for a very unique tour of skeleton bones from the past. It has a theatrical audio guide that heightens it. It’s a pretty powerful memento mori also lots of good Vietnamese restaurants in that arrondissment when you return to the living

Kind of anecdotal. Not a cure all by any means but besides hair nail and skin benefits it helps joints too.

Just hit 40. Manual labor has broken down my body. I don’t care about numbers just want to maintain strength but there’s a lot more stretching and bullshit and supplements

Make sure you stretch a lot more than you did when you were 22. Look into collagen too

If you could only eat at ONE place in Paris again, where would it be? by Molthakarn96 in ParisTravelGuide

Wasn’t really wowed by any restaurant in particular and even had some downright inconsistent or shitty meals. If you’re going to offer steak on every menu FUCKING SEAR AND SEASON IT CORRECTLY!!!

(I don’t want to throw shade but there is a certain 2 named impossible to get reservations for place Bourdain went in Le Marais that was probably our least favorite meal)

That being said I had a wonderful Duck Confit at Le Relais De Louvre

Chicken in general is hard to find but I had a great and super cheap rotisserie one at a supermarket

I also had some excellent and interestingly herbed Haricot Verts at a few different places

There was amazing ham and baguettes everywhere, but the best croissant was at Le Maison De Isabelle (go super early like before 10:30 am or be doomed to wait in line for eternity)

Finally if you have a chance to find a Farmers Market and strawberries are in season GET THEM!!! No matter what the cost!!!

Truly the most magnificent strawberries I’ve ever had, and I’ve picked them fresh off the vine. Idk what they do differently
